Why does Darke no longer call the U.S. Games?

I got into soccer during the 2010 men's World Cup and that lead to me watching the women in 2011 and Olympics in 2012. I was watching some highlights of the '11 World Cup of Abby's clutch goals and reliving it all and realized that he no longer calls the games or hasn't this WC. Is it because of Fox? I'd much prefer him over whatever Fox has been putting out there. Does Fox have the '18 and '19 world cups too?

IIRC he called one of the USWNT friendlies before the WWC for ESPN, so I assume it is contractual stuff

Same reason Verne and Gary don't call Bama games when they play on ESPN
Announcers are employed by a network.

I didn't know if that applied when it came to international stuff such as this. Only thing I would change about tomorrow

Ian Darke is amazing. But i thought the announcer has done well so far. Stays out of the way and pronounces the names correctly.

If it were up to me, Sir Ian would call US matches until he died.
That said, I've been fine with the FOX announcers during this WC. Other than some shitty online streaming, I think most of the coverage has been alright.

I thought the guy announcing Tuesday was Jeremy Schaap until I realized it was fox I was watching

Because Fox could never do anything that good.

This. Money no object.

He is completely under ESPN (ESPN in the US, BT in the UK).

J.P. DellaCamera is likely the best American football play-by-play guy. He's paid his dues over and over again, he's done little else besides minor-league hockey and footie for ESPN over the last 25+ years.
He deserves to be someone's lead guy. I'm glad to see him get this chance. He was calling football and doing football highlight shows when they were ESPN's mid-afternoon "filler" and with little to no live stuff, or regular time slots.
Good on him.

Fox needs to create a juiced up robot with shin guards and have it run in place and do jukes without a ball to the side of the screen. Then the fox experience will be complete.

Verne and Gary calling soccer.... probably an equally excruciating experience.

Verne would find some way to work Tebowe into goal call.
