My brother and I wanted to go, but $200 a piece of endzone upper deck tix for a 2 hour match is ridiculous. Especially on a Tuesday night.

Well, the tournament was put together by a bunch of criminals who were only interested in lining their own pockets... so, its not a big surprise..

We are talking about the semifinal man not any other matches. Everyone who cares about soccer and can afford it will be there. A chance to see the best player to ever play the game is priceless. That's why tickets are going for $300 consistently.
the tournament organizers love people like you

the cheapest category of tickets for the euro semi is 65 euro which if your lucky gets you lower level behind the goal.

There is a reason a lot of these matches are not sold out.
but they probably still made a killing on each game. likely much higher profit margins than the Euro event

mmmmm none of the euro games were even close to as empty of some of the copa group stage matches where.
They would have made a killing selling tix at a realistic price and selling out.

I'm gonna try to scalp some outside of NRG Tuesday night. I feel like that's the only way to find a reasonably priced ticket.

I could have driven down to Houston but I can't justify paying that much for shite tickets.
All else being equal, I would prefer us have 50,000 people paying an average of $125 than have 25,000 paying $250 a person. The financials work out the same on tickets but higher attendance equals more merchandise, parking, food, beer, etc. sales since it is variable mostly on number of people. Oh, and an environment that is twice as good.
If they truly sell out and the place is packed to the rafters, then I will happily admit to being out of touch with the demand for this match. I'll wait to see but I got priced out.

The euros are played in stadiums that are max 50k seating. Much less than the stadiums in America.
Posted on 6/19/16 at 4:19 pm to StraightCashHomey21
First off...I only paid $190 for mine.. Europeans are known to never pay much for tickets though. A ticket to a premier league game would cost you around £30 and they even bitch about that. The average American football ticket would be around $90.

A ticket to an EPL game is £30???? I wish. Ask Arsenal or Liverpool fans about that one.

umm ok
Stade de France - 81,338
Stade Vélodrome - 67,394
Parc Olympique Lyonnais - 59,286
If all the stadiums are small, you would think that would make tickets more expensive

Its insane compared to the actual Euro's going on right now. A tournament with bigger stars and better quality.
There is a reason a lot of these matches are not sold out. Sad when a US match that big in Seattle of all places is no where close to a sell out.
The reason is the price is insane.

Cheapest England vs Wales ticket on Viagogo was £340 (I'll estimate $500) and that's for a £25($40)
Your average fan may not be willing to pay over inflated prices but someone will, and that's all touts care about
Someone will pay it to see Messi and co

The difference that was not the face value.
Face value for Copa America tickets was way more than Euro tickets.

Seeing these prices is pretty surprising. I remember getting tickets at the Maracana during the World Cup for $150. And they're trying to charge more for an event that a significant portion of the host nation (as much as I hate to say it) is unaware of?

Sorry but thats insane
To be fair, I would drop quite a bit for the final if the USA was in it.
