Its insane just bullshitting around I looked at the other semi in chi-town
a ticket in the 2nd to last row in the upper deck straight from ticketmaster and not from a reseller is face value $250. What in the frick

To be fair, I would drop quite a bit for the final if the USA was in it.
Its one thing if you are paying twice face value from a reseller or scalper.
But when face value is $200+ for shitty seats imagine what the re sell market can be if there was a high demand.

No wonder some of those first round games had some horrific attendance. How much did they think they were going to get people to pay to see Haiti/Peru?

I mentioned it in a previous post but yea the only way to get tickets by making everyone buy a package was stupid. Which flooded low demand games with tickets to the point they are almost free on the secondary market.
Still sickening that the US tickets the last match from ticketmaster were still on sale for $150+ just hours before kickoff. Which results in an entire upper deck empty and plenty of empty seats in other parts of Century Link.

I don't care if our prices are a lot more than in Europe IF we're getting good attendance. But we're not.
But the human rights-like way Europeans react to high ticket prices makes me laugh. I get that they historic, neighborhood connections to these clubs, but I'm not going to get worked up like that. I will take the lower prices.

Its insane compared to the actual Euro's going on right now. A tournament with bigger stars and better quality.
There is a reason a lot of these matches are not sold out. Sad when a US match that big in Seattle of all places is no where close to a sell out.
Not to mention that US stadiums are bigger, don't cost as much to run (per seat) and don't have anything close to the need for security that European stadiums do - in the UK the cost of policing is passed on to clubs, not sure about Europe.

Face value for Final Four basketball tickets in Houston were $200.

Will def be interesting to see how many of those tickets on the ticketmaster resell don't get bought.
Hope its a sell out

the cheapest category of tickets for the euro semi is 65 euro which if your lucky gets you lower level behind the goal.
And if you live in Europe you can see a top level soccer match nearly every week of the year.
If you're like me and the MLS doesn't interest you, this is the closest thing to a top level soccer match I can see all year.
Don't be obtuse.

It isn't obtuse. If the stadium is sold out then you will be proven correct and if it isn't then he will.

Thank you! Maybe the group stage games were a little over priced but the whole argument is why the semifinal is so expensive. We are going to be able to see the best player to ever play the game in his prime, i would pay $400 just to be able to share that story.

Understatement of the year.

People are bitching b/c the Copa has been priced like this through out.
If I was progressive price increase like at other tournaments it would be different. Even then some tickets at a semifinal and final should be at a reasonable price. It would be embarrassing if this match is not sold out but there is a legit reason why it could not be a full house even if all the tickets are sold from ticketmaster.

I have come to eat crow. The stadium was packed and I am proud of the support the USA showed even if the product on the field didn't deserve it.

It would be embarrassing for a semifinal not to sell out. But that wasn't $200+ for upper deck seats quality on the pitch.
