... ie the exclusion had nothing to do with LD's sabbatical, his general attitude, or Jurgen's perceived love of ze germans, etc.

33 percent playing abilty or lack of being in shape.

33 percent because he stated he was tired of soccer and didn't help us qualify.

33 percent because he didn't go to an overseas country and stay in shape like J.K. asked, and J.K. made an example of him in all 3 points.

1 percent because he cried on world wide tv like a drama queen about an ex-wife/on agian / ex-again wife. And embarrassed the hell out of all U.S. fans.

I don't think it was 100% current playing ability, but it was probably at least 75% of the reason. I don't think the sabbatical or his love of the germericans had anything to do with it.

Don't think it was based mainly on playing ability at all.

Donovan, regardless of shape, even as a 60' sub, offers much more creativity than any other player in our pool.

Quality point.

Let's not forget how vital Timmy Chandler has been in the qualifying process.

Maybe he's just not good enough right now.

And I've been a huge landy cakes fan since the beginning. But this decision did not shock me one bit.

Ability or form? I think he's perfectly able....his form has just sucked as of late.

He missed loads of qualification games. Why over look the well made point, he missed a bunch of qualification games in the start up, why shouldn't a coach take into account that “ he wanted some time off to think about it ”.

Hell, he would have been in my 23, just explaining why I think J.K. cut him.

He missed the early qualifications, J.K. forgave him and welcomed him back, HE HAD A STRIKE AGAINST HIM THOUGH.

J.K. tells him to go overseas and play, L.D. brushes him off ( another strike ) then comes to camp in bad shape ( strike 3)

JMO.

Yep. It's good that the US team is now bigger than one player. We're better than LD just showing up and making a WC roster.

And I have loved LD since he first came on the scene. But he's the epitome of where US soccer used to be. Time to move on. Just sucks he kinda took it for granted because I want him on the team. But he didn't do what he needed to do. It sucks.

I don't think the team is that good when he's being replaced by other early 30s NT fringe players and German second division teenagers.

So then our talent pool hasn't improved at all in your opinion. I disagree.

All the European kids are an improvement but that does little to support the argument that replacing Donovan with Davis or Wondolowski shows how deep our talent is becoming.

Wondo deserves a spot on this team. I think Landon does too. I'm absolutely gutted. I have no idea how in the hell Jurgen thinks Brad fricking Davis will give us more at the World Cup than Donovan will.

we only have 2 creative attacking players in our pool: dempsey and landon. now we have one
