Do we have some from LA that are now playing for club teams (FC Dallas, etc.)?

What about which schools have the most soccer players playing in college?

The best HS players in any state shouldn't be playing HS soccer for a boat load of reasons.

Probably Jesuit.

ETA I went to the state championship two years ago and St. Paul’s smoked Jesuit, but damn were St. Paul’s well coached

St Paul’s are solid all the way around. You can’t really credit one or two specific schools for putting out the best talent. Most big schools have at least a few outstanding players, which is a function of their club development. High school doesn’t really develop them, except maybe dealing with physicality and adjusting to speed of play.

well then someone else will be playing HS soccer and be the best at it... Maybe that's fine with me, as Jesuit or whoever not having their best players playing high school soccer will make them easier to beat (and most fans and students don't give a frick about watching the clubs we want the elite to play at at those ages)

St. Paul's is the best high school soccer program in the state currently. They've won 4 D-I titles in a row, and show no signs of stopping.

Jesuit is down right now, but historically, they are an elite program. Patrick Mullins went there and he plays for D.C. United now. Herman Award winner at Maryland.

St. Louis Catholic in Lake Charles is also an excellent program. 13 titles in the last 21 years. Produced Herman Award winner Joseph Lapira. His pro career didn't pan out, though.

Newman is another great program.

St. Amant produced Jason Garey.

Andrew Malinich from my grade plays at NC State now. He can make it at the MLS level if he plays to his potential. He led Lusher Charter to a state title a few years ago.

Not relevant at all to the question OP asked. If every HS soccer player in LA had Down’s syndrome then there would still be an answer

Id assume it's similar here as to where I grew up. Some hs just suck. Almost anyone can make the team depending on location of school and # of students. competition isn't the same as club level.

But to answer your question. Mullins from Jesuiy is the only guy from down here in the MLS. I may be mistaken though.

HS season last for 3 months, club soccer last for 6-7 months a year. The clubs are preparing the kids for HS ball, not the other way around...

Ancient history, I know. Sue me, I'm old.
Jason Kreis.

I've seen where Jesuit, I don't know about St. Paul's, has a bench at least 40 deep.

Two of my U-6ers are starting at Brother Martin, and one is at least all-district. :)
