Donovan's fitness is fine. Neither of them are quality options. Davis would be good if we could sub in for only service. Their right side would run rampant on him.

Cool, I was little confused because I know we agreed on the roster selection. Also, watching the replay of the US game for the first time now.

Meh, the last time he played right back for us (Honduras 2013), it was pretty awful.

I'm starting to wonder if leaving Parkhurst off of the roster might be the worst move of all.
He could have been the third choice at RB (Johnson & Cameron), third choice at LB (Beasley & Johnson) and the 4th CB (Cameron, Besler & Brooks). Now you've replaced Yedlin, Chandler and questionably healthy Omar with one guy. Now, you're able to have Boyd AND Donovan (or Corona, if you think Donovan=Fat Ronaldo) and still keep Green and Davis.

Eh, when has Boyd really looked competent for us?
Eddie's played better for us than Boyd has.
Donovan should have made the team. Other than that I don't see the huge issues.

Me too. I would take EJ at this point, but I wouldn't have put him on the roster on the off-chance that Jozy would get hurt.

Even with a healthy Jozy, I just feel like a lot of players on this roster can't help us.
By my subjective count, I have Yedlin, Green, Davis, Chandler and Wondo as guys who I would be ok if they don't see a minute in Brazil.
Compare it to 2010 when Spector and Goodson were the only 2 guys besides the backup GKs that didn't play.

To be fair all of this conjecture has the benefit of hindsight after Jozy went ham. We aren't deep either.

So much overreaction in this thread...
We beat Ghana. We had a fluke injury.
we will be fine. its tough that we don't have a true replace to replace Jozy but it is what it is.
there are one or two players that in hindsight to a Jozy injury would be nice to have but I would imagine we would be having this conversation if another play besides jozy would have gotten hurt.
AJ will be fine. Bradley will be fine and definitely doesn't need to be left off the starting XI.
Having a third GK is a norm as is having 4 players who can play CB.

I think Green can run at defenders at least as good as Zusi and Bedoya can. Chandler has had good games in the past. I wouldn't be opposed to a Chandler/Johnson right side vs. Portugal. This isn't like the Honduras game where he only had a few days to get used to the heat and humidity. They've been doing this for at least a month now.
