It was an accidental step, not an attempt to injure.

The way the rule is written intent is not considered. Its been bullshite for years.

Couple years ago Pepi looked really promising..

Recent (especially in this world cup) he has looked useless

Hope I'm wrong

I mean it does still have to be a “challenge” though. How is being pulled down by the defender and falling on his leg a challenge?

Well he has scored more goals than anyone else on our team so it’s not good

I wouldn’t say “screwed” but he’s a huge piece of the puzzle. He’s the first true striker we’ve had in a long time

It wasn’t a red card pure and simple

No I didnt. Ronaldo got a red card and was supposed to be suspended for this world cup but FIFA ruled he could serve it after the world cup was over.

I want the same for Balogun

wouldn’t expect it to be overturned. I don’t see anything to overturn it.

You obviously never played. He was challenging for the ball (1), had cleats pointed down (2), pulled up the second he realized he had landed on his ankle (3), and the opposing player was uninjured (4). Every indication, whether in slow-mo or at full speed, showed it was unintentional (5)

There's at least 5 reasons you could easily "see to overturn it"

It will be interesting if Trump were to get involved - the organization created an award for him after all.

Doesn’t seem too far-fetched that he could call the FIFA head directly and influence an objectively correct decision being made.

“ A spokesperson for U.S. Soccer said after the game it would only appeal if the suspension was more than one game.”

Doubt they will appeal, it they should.
