I don't really blame the players, the gameplan was just wayyy too conservative from the jump. Their plan was to get a goal, bunker, and hope Messi didn't make magic.

He always makes magic happen. The most clutch player of all time up there with Michael Jordan.

Only up 1-0, you have to stay on the attack.

England was lucky it wasn’t 4-1 with that ultra conservative strategy against one of the best teams and best players ever. Some really good saves and the post kept that from happening.

It's nice to see the Prevent defense fails in all forms of football.

2 assists in the last 5 minutes of regulation and could have had 2 more if Mac Allister could hit open net headers.

Trying to park the bus against Messi for 30 minutes just seems like a terrible idea. I mean, who would want him constantly on the ball in your defensive 1/3?

Exactly. Argentina has shown they can be scored on this WC. Their best player doesn’t really defend much but is deadly in possession.

But you decide to sit back and play defense?

My favorite part was bringing Dan burn on to protect the lead, only for him, Pickford, and konsa to become their entire offense
