Ghana is actually pretty good, or did you miss where last world cup they advanced out of group place to knock us out of the world cup?

First full game I've watched since 2010.

Can't say I'm much of a soccer fan but I love and get into the world cup every time. I at least watch every US game and enjoy every minute

Ghana made it quarterfinals last World Cup. England got knocked out on round of sixteen.

Yeah, I'm not a soccer fan but if you can't get excited or behind your country, then you're a douchebag.

USA!

IDGAF about the soccer board.

I agree. You can't have a good discussion over there because it's mostly soccer fanatics who don't like those new to the sport posting. But that was a great victory and about as dramatic a win as it gets. I like the way there are so few goals scored in soccer in that it makes every goal a hard earned huge moment. Now if we can just get a win or a tie with Portugal we should move on out of the group with the way the tie breaker works.

It's my understanding that a lot of the US team are not Americans, they were just made citizens because they play soccer good...is this accurate?

Don't think that is accurate at all.

Don't care either way though. Dems our boys representing the USA is all I know or care about.

No.

Eight players have dual citizenship. For example, an American dad on a military base has a child with a German woman.

As someone posting since day one, this is one of the things I've come to dislike about the board.

Portugal. They just got their arse kicked by the Germans today 4-nil...I think Ronaldo is injured. We have a good chance.

Portugal is better than us, but we may catch them at less than full strength.

We just need a tie to make it likely we advance also. A win and we're in period (or at least almost certainly unless Ghana wins out and goes apeshit on Germany and Portugal).

Soccer fans seem to have a weird dynamic, want the sport embraced but get pissed at newcomers who come around WC time
