That is the first soccer match I have watched from beginning to end and I think it was a pretty good one to

It was great. Landon donovans goal in the final seconds of extra time in 2010 was a bit more dramatic imo, but this one is up there. Especially because it put us in position to have a real chance to advance out of the group of death.

It was a good game. I got drunk and bought an American Outlaws scarf. Amazing.

Ghana made it quarterfinals last World Cup. England got sodomized in the round of sixteen.

We just have to hope altidors hammy is ok and demsey can play and breath with a broken nose now.

We were getting worked over hard for about 40 minutes of that 2nd half. Great win. Really puts us in a good spot in the group. Especially with Portugal limping in after that beatdown Deutschland put on them.

I just looked at the schedule and it looks like we don't play again until Sunday. Why so long between matches?

A bunch of other games need to be played first and they don't play any of these games at the same time.

Honestly most of the US team should be deported. If u are a real American u will agree.

They are playing all over Brazil aren't they? Seems like a long time between games.

There are 8 groups with 4 teams, each team having to play everyone in their group. None of the games in the group stage are on at the same time, and there are typically 3 games a day (think Saturday had 4). Group stage lasts a couple of weeks.

Thanks. So correct me if I'm wrong, but as teams are eliminated the gap between matches will shorten?

Everyone in the group stage plays the same number of games I'm pretty sure

Well, the US will play Portugal on Sunday, then Germany on Thursday. After that, we get to the knockout rounds. Starts on June 28th with the 16 remaining teams and ends on July 13th. But typically there is going to be some days in between a team playing, mostly for recovery and travel.
ETA- Group stage ends on the 26th

How about Tennessee just use players from the state of Tennessee.

It's a round robin between all four teams. 3 for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss; goal differential is used to break standings tie-breakers.

Thanks for the explanation. This soccer novice appreciates it.

Had to watch the last 10 minutes in the car due to an appointment I had to go to. I yelled so loud on the second goal, my wife almost drove the car off the road.
