Do you like stabbing people? Pick Juve.

Do you like racism? Pick Inter.

I wouldn't just pick. You need to let it happen as naturally as possible.

I mean, for many of us, it ultimately will be just picking, it's not like its a neighborhood team. But you can do better than just selecting based on proximity to your birthday.

Trust me, as you get into it, you'll come to learn there are distinguishing factors about the club, the club's hometown, the management, history, etc. You don't want to pick a team, invest a couple seasons and then learn there is just too much stuff you just can't live with. I don't think that is likely, but it's possible.

If I didn't have a CFB team and I picked Cal because of some arbitrary reason, it might be a little weird a few years from now when I finally went to Berkeley for a game and realized that I hate almost everyone who goes there and they hate people like me.

That's an extreme hypo, but I would watch matches and see whose play interests you. Then do a little background and see which one has history or other factors that stand out for you or you're drawn toward.

Are you a winner....if so pick Real Madrid.

If not...put these in a hat Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, ManU, MancC, Liverpool and pick one at random.

OP, you need to pick one of the 24 #blessed clubs plying their trade in tGOATpionship. You might want to avoid the proverbial yo-yo clubs such as Norwich and Newcastle though. You seem like an Ipswich kind of guy, or perhaps you're a seagull from Brighton.

Inter is a shitshow right now, just so you know.

Most people have a preference in every league, though most won't say they are fans of or follow that team.

I feel like Barcelona is a good team to follow for someone new, or a good starting point at the least. Exciting to watch, rich as frick so they buy a lot of established guys but also develop talent well too.

Most clubs either buy their whole team, or develop the young guys well (and usually eventually lose them to the rich clubs). Barca is the best of both worlds.

This. I have some low level fandom for a few teams, but really I love not having a real rooting interest when I'm watching. I just root for good matches and high quality play.
