USWNT is fun to watch again

Watching a match for the first time since maybe the last World Cup they won.
They are whopping Germany right now. Front 3 of Rodman, Swanson and Sophia Smith are all speedy, technical and lethal in front of goal.

I agree…this is the most dynamic the US team has been in a while. When you have a front 3 with that kind of ability…it gives you a a lot of options to work with!!! Changing of the guard feels good with this group!!

Meant to create a new thread but why is the USWNT so dominant compared to the men’s team. Is women’s soccer just not a thing globally?

They haven’t been the last few years. 20 years ago we had college soccer that was better development than any women’s league one Europe. How big European clubs has women’s academies and are closing the gap.

The short answer is that America being 2 decades ahead of the rest of the world in women's rights outweighed America being 2 centuries behind the rest of the world when it comes to soccer.

The us is the best country for women.
They complain about pay but other parts of the world the women weren’t full professionals.
The problem they have had and will have going forward is the men’s European clubs investing in the women’s teams. There is a more natural fandom there and the best players will be playing in Europe.
Barcelona fan? Cool, you can easily be a fan of Barca women’s team. Chelsea or Arsenal fan? Same.
I’m not tuning in to Chicago sky or whatever fricking gay names they’ve tried over and over again in the women’s leagues here.

I see what you're trying to do here, but I don't think it has much to do with her being an outsider, moreso that she is the arguably the best manager in the women's game right now and it's easy to pry that away when your program is historically the best in the sport.
