USMNT Nations League 40-man provisional roster released

Really no shocker on any of these names other than no Jozy... but that's not really a shock at this point considering he hasn't played for us since losing to Mexico in the Gold Cup final.

No real complaints. I would have liked to see CCV instead of bringing Ream. Ream hasn’t sniffed the field in a long while for Fulham.

Will be interesting if we send the full A squad to the nations league and let those guys get a much needed rest this summer and then use the gold cup to give some fringe players a legit shot.

I think Gregg values him as a pseudo coach/team leader role.
He was at Gregg's hip every time ESPN showed a shot of the sidelines during the Jamaica match, even though Ream never got in the game.
I simultaneously think it's kind of dumb to waste a roster spot for an international team, but also kind of understand it considering how young this squad is and will be for the entirety of this cycle.

Green has been fantastic the last year in Bundesliga 2
He deserves a legit shot at the A squad if they make it into the Bundesliga and he keeps playing well.

I hate seeing Kellum Acosta because of his inconsistency, but he is showing potential as a number 6 to back up Adams.

Sadly another career wasted bc he decided to dick around in MLS
The big leagues don’t seem to be interested in MLS players after a certain age anymore
I really hope he can get himself a move but his play doesn’t warrant it

Besides being a good locker room guy, leader, etc., Ream can also fill in at both CB and LB.

I think that’s right and understandable. Need some veterans in camp. Remove ream and the eldest statesmen becomes . . . Brooks? An incredibly young group.

Nope. I’d rather invest in a younger guy to get him chemistry and time in the system, though.
When Acosta plays well, he plays DAMN well. When he doesn’t, he is terrible. And that happens far more often. If we want a player like that we should just stick to Michael Bradley.

I thought Yedlins year was done after that awful injury last month, good to see it wasn't as bad as they originally thought.
I really want to hate Roldan being on the provisional roster as usual, but damn he's been unstoppable for the Sounders early on this season.

It's time to start looking at who the best players are right now. Qualifying starts in a few months and the WC is only a year and a half away.
