The central midfielders don't really fit what we usually have there. Usually we have two hard arse tacklers and above average passers. These guys are more technical in nature, not striking any fear into the hearts of opposing midfielders. I think Holden is gonna put in some challenges and Beckerdreds will play his role but I'm not sure.
I think this sets up for a 3-man midfield to be honest.

--------McInerney---------
Gatt-----Donovan-----Corona
----Beckerman-Holden-------
Beasley-Goodson-Gooch-Ashe
---------Rimando----------
maybe Fiscal at CB or RB.

That seems like a lot of ground for Holden to cover.

feet first into the fire. he's been healthy for more than a few months now, time to play.

Stoke is more important for Brek right, good move by Jurgen.

Also a good move by Jurgen. Surely, Boca can latch on someplace that has PT to offer. France?, maybe a low table epl or german team.

They both make sense, but it's just unfortunate. I was really hoping brek was going to play a lot. I hope he at least plays in the Guatemala game.

I hope this is what it is. Boca certainly doesn't need the experience of playing in the Gold Cup.
Also worried about CM. it could be great, but Mix, Holden, and Torres could all bomb.

Something that's important and might get lost in the shuffle, this locks up Mix for us.

Twellman believes Bocanegra is headed to MLS.

So he's not coming to the MLS?

Good to see clear cut reasons why Boca and Shea were left off. I'm pulling for Boca, if Goodson makes the plane to Brazil I won't even know what to think, he is atrocious.
Sucks to see Feilhaber not listed, the dude just can't get his shite together, it's sad because he's as talented as anyone we have.
I want to see Gatt on the left, Donovan on the right, Corona making magic happen at the CAM/no.10 role, and Beckerman and Holden behind them, with Beckerman holding all game as a 6.
Can't wait for the Gold Cup, should be a lot of fun

Even if he doesn't start, I'm sure he gets in as a late sub against Belize or Cuba.

I'm actually surprised that Mike Magee was left off despite leading the MLS in goals, that's how Wondo and Buddle got called up.

I am fine with the roster selections.
Omar and Besler should not be here, and I am surprised about Beasley being included but I guess it's because the Mexican league isn't in session, I appreciate Jurgen's explanations on Shea and Bocanegra. On the fence about Evans not being here.
I expect Beckerman to be our stopper in midfield with Mix and Holden alongside him (or Torres if Holden can't go or Mix is too weak), Landon and Gatt/Bedoya on the wing, with Donovan and Herc up front.
