My view is that the first three guys are being phased out, and I am in favor of that.
Wright has a serious injury, McKennie has a light injury and nothing to prove for the USMNT. Pulisic will get clickbait headlines, but I don’t read anything into this since he just came back from injury. Zendejas is also recovering from injury. I believe Balogun is also somewhat injured.
As far as I can tell, Arfsten, McKenzie, and Scally are all healthy but these are players who are towards the bottom of our player pool.
That leaves Weah and Aaronson as players who were intentionally not picked by Poch this time around, though they are healthy and in settled club situations.
The only player who I wish wasn’t called up from the returning players is Miles Robinson.

I think Poch has seen what he needs to see from all those guys.. good or bad
Luna is in the doghouse of a doghouse. They must hate that guy.

Luna just announced he is having knee surgery so add him to the injured list

That's why Poch went with Freese, and... well...
Well what? Who was better? Damn sure wasn’t Turner.
I’m not holding the Belgium match against Freese, as everyone was arse that day.
Freese isn’t the long-term answer. Neither is Turner. Hopefully one of the young fellas puts on a show and enters the conversation with confidence and performance.

In both international and club play throughout their careers, Turner has been a better goalkeeper by pretty much every measurable statistic.
That's not to say Turner is some awesome goalkeeper, because he's not, it's just to say that Poch's fast tracking and subsequent unwavering trust of Freese never made any sense. It still doesn't.

I’m convinced you either don’t remember your own positions on issues at times, or you’re a troll…
All of us collectively bemoaned how bad Turner is at distribution, clearance and passing under even light pressure, and starting
/participating in a build from the back. This is a non-starter for football at the highest level, and none of us here would argue that.
You take the more reliable passed and pressure guy who can help you build from the back every single time because even though he isn’t the greatest shot stopper, he doesn’t cost you extra goals in pressure situations.
If you want a shot stopper, he can come in for pens.

If a guy who has no real ties to the US national team picks another side, I won’t get annoyed.
What Julian Hall is doing is much more obnoxious.

He played on US youth teams and supposedly was feeding USSF with the idea that he was staying.

Agreed. Dude is nowhere near good enough to be playing both sides.

Oh, you’re looking for a fight… nah I’m good.
Anyway, my stance on our current goalkeepers has been they are both trash, but Turner stops the ball better than Freese does.

He’s a good kid. I got to take care of him at a youth camp. Incredible talent and a massive loss for us imo. Sucks to lose someone you showed interest in early but not everyone is the same as Dest in that regard. Plus he has no relationship with his dad and hasn’t been back to the US since he was four, except for US camps. I’m wishing him success but yeah, absolutely bummed about it.

No? Just saying you need to pick a side of the fence.

My side is that they both suck, but Turner is slightly less sucky.
Neither should be the starter, but Poch shoehorning Freese out of nowhere was always weird.
I always said that.
