Busio isn't even the best American on his team, Tessman is. If Venezia doesn't go up Tessman will have suitors.

Some chatter now that Marsch will take over the team after the gold cup.

If that's the case, kinda lame that he's skipping two tournaments.

This is the most important cycle in USMNT history and you'd think it be wise for the new coach to get as many tournament-setting reps as you can.

Beyond that though, Jesse just feels like a letdown. He's Gregg with a better PR agency backing him.

I enjoyed Marsch on the MIB podcast whenever the USMNT was in Qatar. I feel like he’d be a good fit…

You don’t see a difference in their resumes? No difference in the hiring process?

I hoped for someone different than Marsch just because the shine came off a little bit with how Leeds ended, but I see reason to hope.

Like I said, he has a better PR firm promoting him i.e. Red Bull.

Jesse has a rigid system that he has failed to implement at every stop he's made after Salzburg and hasn't survived a full season since. Like we learned with Gregg, a national team coach needs to be more fluid in shape and tactics. Maybe Jesse surprises us and is that guy, but to this point, there is no real reason to believe that to be the case.

If that's true then that's the dumbest thing I've read today.

A) What Broski already said

B) it actually means he's seeing if he gets any open Euro club offers over the summer and we're just the fallback plan.

Yeah it doesn’t make sense. He’s out of work right now. Why wait until the summer? Not logical at all.

Supposedly Mikey doesn't officially start until August and they don't want to make Jesse's hire until then.

I think he’ll do okay coaching the usmnt

Penis red bull ball only works with elite talent. I really wanted to see him be more adaptable with the wide players we had but he stuck with the narrow system. He’ll have the best talent in our pool to work with and we should still sleepwalk through most of concacaf

The Leeds players did like him. I saw interviews with Bamford and Firpo where they both said they liked working with him but the intensity was kinda grating on them as the season started to unfold after the world cup. That won’t be an issue on the international scene where they aren’t together every day.

I bet it will be JM. I could see the The Higher Ups tell him to stay clear of a his usual system. But they’ll want an American coach with his personality motivating players and being behind microphones and leading the team for the WC hosted in the USA. It will make for good press.

Sources tell
@FOXSoccer
that:
-The #USMNT will use mostly, if not entirely, different squads for Nations League finals and Gold Cup.
-Interim coach Anthony Hudson will stay through both events (he’s under contract until Aug 1).
-No deal is close with Jesse Marsch or anyone else.

I also like to think we are waiting until after the club season to weigh all of our potential options and not just jumping on the most available.

But if it's indeed Jesse, I'll be pissed because it's an underwhelming hire in itself, but it'll be even more underwhelming that you hired him 3-5 months later than we could've.

Same thing I said when we waited a full year to hire Gregg. An underwhelming hire that we could've had the second T&T eliminated us. Instead, we wasted all of 2018 running a 4-1-4-1 with Sarachen.

Crocker said some conversations have occurred with candidates, but the plan is interviews in June, then narrow list and have further interviews before making a hire by "the end of summer." Club situation could impact the timeline. #USMNT
