This^ we need to let Danny stay back for defense because Bradley is too good to let bring the ball up through the middle and constantly push forward

Next year is going to be huge for USMNT. It's 100 year anniversary of US soccer. (If im not mistaking). Gold Cup, and WCQ. I expect big results. The Gold Cup will be incredibly interesting. I wonder if we roll with our younger players and B squad.

I'd like to see how this 4-1-3-2 would look. Not an expert here, but I do play a shite load of FIFA13.

--------------- Jozy ---------------------
------------------- Herc -----------------

Dempsey ----------------------- Zusi/Lando
------------------ Bradley -----------------

---------------- Williams/Jones ------------
FJ --- 2 of Boca/Cam/Omar/Good --- Dolo

Williams/Jones sitting in front of the back four. Let Bradley do his thing box to box. Deuce and Zusi cutting in with Johnson and Dolo overlapping.

I think Jozy has to be in there when it gets to nut cutting time. I've watched him quite a lot the past year and what I've seen is a close to world-class striker. Granted, he hasn't played that well recently for the USMNT, but many of those appearances have been 15-20 minute subs against these shite island countries when, honestly, the entire team hasn't played well. The question does he contribute enough to the team when he's not getting good service. So get him good service, he has goals in him. I really think Jozy/Herc could be a sick combo up front if they had some time to develop a partnership.

Lando would be a hell of a super sub for Zusi when we need a goal. He could be a terror coming out of that midfield three running at tired defenses. As would GAM up top for Jozy or Herc.

K, that's it. tl;dr

Jurgen has already said that we will have two teams this summer: one for WCQ and one for Gold Cup. So I guess that answers that question.

In response to the thread, I would LOVE to see what GAM and Jozy can do together, either as the attacking two in a 4-4-2 or with GAM on the wing and Jozy up top in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. They can even switch off, as both players are pretty proficient at both positions.

---------------Altidore---------Dempsey---------
----F.Johnson-------------------------Donovan-----
----------------Bradley---------Williams-----------
---Lichaj------Boca--------Cameron-------Dolo----
Timmy

EJ, Gomez, Zusi, Kljestan, Jones, Parkhurst, little big Brad

Notes: Bringing back the empty bucket, motherfrickers!!

Dempsey would have a free role and hopefully float deep or out wide.

Could also morph into a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 depending on possession.

a few other players that would be in the 23 man squad and possibly playing: Gatt, Mix, Boyd, Gonzalez, Pearce, Rimando

If Gonzalez gets back to pre knee injury form. He can be a huge asset against WCQ games. Height adv would work well on set pieces.

Thought about putting him ahead of boca but it's pretty hard to justify given his injury(frick Timmy chandler). I still think he and Cameron will be the starters going forward, hopefully George John will find some form and get his move to Europe soon as I think he could be another option.

If Chandler doesn't want to be playing for the USA 1000% then I don't want him. I don't want to be the "rebound" team when Germany rejects him and he comes here because he has to.

Good with all of that except why Goodson over Cameron? Cameron is our best CB. GAM for altidore too

Bocanegra will be the captain, so there's no point in even making an XI that doesn't include him. I think we sleep on Goodson a lot. He has been quietly consistent for us.

Jozy > GAM

Eddie would be first choice off the bench though.

Chandler would be a huge coup for the USMNT, I don't care if he's waiting on a call from Der Mannshcaft, when he's ready to play for the US we welcome him with open arms.

Yes. Dolo can't play forever.

I hope Stuhawk gets called up for the Gold Cup. Needs to if he's going to have a shot to play in Brazil IMO. I still hate Johnny Evans.

--------Dempsey-----Altidore----------
E Johnson----Bradley---Donovan-
-------------Williams--------------
F Johnson--Boca--Cameron--Dolo
--------------Howard--------------

First options off bench:
Zusi
Boyd
Gomez
Shea

And if Chandler comes back, I would be happy to welcome him back, Churundolo isnt getting any younger. If Gonzales is healthy and in form our back line could look like this once Boca and Dolo retire..

Johnson-Gonzales-Cameron-Chandler

The "frick Timmy Chandler" in my post was directed at him because of the injury he inflicted on Gonzo in training at Nuremberg that set Gonzo back almost an entire year. I still think that Gonzo is the most talented of the "younger" crop of CBs we have. Cameron as much more athletic and mobile but not really a true CB, Ream has good vision but is undersized and not the most athletic.

On a related topic, I'd like to see our Gold Cup team be comprised of a fair number of the "talented but might not have worked out just right" crowd.

Aguedelo, Adu etc.

At least it'd be fun to watch
