Greg Garza of Tijuana (LB) and John Anthony Brooks (CB) of Hertha Berlin might get looks by Klinsmann during any upcoming friendlies.
Brooks possibly for the November friendly in Russia. Garza possibly for January camp when the Mexican season is still in recess between seasons.

I wouldn't drop Herc at this point. I guess things could change by the time of the Hex, but he does so many good things even when he's not scoring, and his goal scoring record has been pretty decent lately.
----------------------Herc-------------------------------
--------------------Dempsey-----------------------------
Zusi--------------Bradley----------Williams--------Donovan
Johnson---------Boca--------Cameron------------Dolo
----------------------Howard---------------------------
I know Boca's struggled a bit and he's just getting older, but I really dislike Goodson. It would be nice if Omar could eventually step in.
I was shocked by how good Eddie was on the wing (considering my expectations), so I could deal with him instead of Zusi. May have just been an anomaly but he should definitely be apart of the team.
Jozy
Eddie
Shea
Klejstan
Jones
Goodson
Parkhurst
Lichaj
Guzan
etc.

Bump for ESPNs prediction for starting lineup and bench for WC14...

Can't read it since I'm not an ESPN insider. Would you be able to post it here for us?

I like the 4-1-3-2, 4-1-4-1 4-1-3-1-1 formation. which ever you really consider it.
Bradley has to be playing a cm role for us but i still like having that dcm.
It funny that i never though about this formation for the US until i saw it on fifa the other day.. like it there too
Hope Stubear can get back; I think Torres could be a valuable player for us but he never seems to have a good game for the united states

Nineteen months before the next World Cup kicks off, only four U.S. national teamers -- Tim Howard, Fabian Johnson, Michael Bradley and Clint Dempsey -- can be considered surefire starters in Brazil.
There are still more questions than answers. And that shouldn't come as a surprise. A lot can and will happen between now and 2014. There's far more uncertainty surrounding the squad than there was this time four years ago. Looking at the Yanks' lineup for an October 2008 qualifier against Cuba, just about any American Outlaw could have correctly predicted seven of the players who would line up against England in the team's opener at South Africa 2010.
Then again, who back then would have had MLS strikers Edson Buddle, Robbie Findley and Herculez Gomez on the final 23-man squad?
The unknowns facing Jurgen Klinsmann's team today are huge.
Is Landon Donovan really going to retire before the World Cup? Will Jozy Altidore, who has played as well for Dutch club AZ as he has poorly for the national team, work his way back into the coach's good graces? Can Stuart Holden regain his health and the form that made him one of the best midfielders in the English Premier League two seasons ago?
There are more doubts, particularly on the back line. How much longer can Klinsmann count on Carlos Bocanegra and Steve Cherundolo? Will Geoff Cameron continue to be a viable option at center back if he never plays the position with Stoke City? Can Oguchi Onyewu, who made his debut for Spanish side Malaga this week -- in the Champions League, no less -- ever return to the heart of the American defense?
Let's start with Bocanegra. The reality that the 33-year-old probably won't make it all the way to Brazil is beginning to set in. Bocanegra should still play an important role early in the final qualifying round, but finding a permanent replacement for the captain, both on the field and in the locker room, has to be Klinsmann's top priority. Cherundolo, who will also be 35 in 2014, is showing fewer signs of slowing and has a better chance of sticking around. But again, things can and will change.
Midfield remains the Americans' deepest spot, and there will be good players who don't make the final cut. Dempsey, Bradley and 23-year-old defensive specialist Danny Williams should claim three of eight or nine spots. Donovan, if he's around, would take another. That leaves Joe Corona, Maurice Edu, Josh Gatt, Jermaine Jones, Sacha Kljestan, Brek Shea, Jose Torres, Graham Zusi and hopefully Holden to compete for the final few places.
The battle will be fierce and injuries will surely play a part. Assuming everyone's healthy, the nods here go to Klinsmann favorites Jones and Zusi, and to attack-minded up-and-comers Corona and Gatt.
Speaking of newbies, 19-year-old reserves John Anthony Books and Sean Cunningham are the other wild cards.
Brooks, a central defender, is earning regular playing time with Bundesliga 2 power Hertha Berlin. The 6-foot-1 Cunningham -- now a Norwegian league starter -- will be better equipped to deal with physical European foes at the World Cup than diminutive Mexican-based left back Edgar Castillo.
Up top, Altidore will eventually return. The new, improved Eddie Johnson won't waste his second chance. And Gomez will keep his place unless and until Johnson, Terrence Boyd or even Aron Johannsson (if the Alabama-born Icelander pledges allegiance to the USA) scores enough goals to wrest it away.
Probably.
The closest thing there is to a guarantee at this point is that Klinsmann's first lineup in Brazil -- assuming the Yanks qualify, of course -- won't be the one you see below. Or will it? That's just another question still to be answered.
Here is the projected USMNT lineup (4-1-3-2) and roster for the 2014 World Cup:
HOWARD
JOHNSON CAMERON GOODSON CHERUNDOLO
WILLIAMS
DEMPSEY BRADLEY GATT
GOMEZ ALTIDORE
RESERVE POS.
Brad Guzan GK
Eric Lichaj RB
Matt Besler CB
John Anthony Brooks CB
Sean Cunningham LB
Jermaine Jones M
Graham Zusi M
Joe Corona M
Landon Donovan M
Eddie Johnson F
Terrence Boyd F

And when he does, who wears the armband after him? Bradley?
Posted on 10/30/12 at 9:11 am to mynamebowl
Dempsey plays on the left and Gatt plays on the right...

I think it's about a 95% chance Bradley gets the armband next.

yah, I'd be totally shocked if the next captain was anybody but Bradley.
Though he does have some anger management issues of his own, that came out briefly last game.
Anyways, will definitely never be the coolest head on the field.

That's true, although generally the captain's armband makes you think twice about things, and sometimes we get a little lackadaisical and need a little fire.

Meh. I love Howard I just never like having a keeper as the captain though.

Keeper's are rarely captains for a reason.

I like his fire. I think it would work well with our side. And it's not like he's reckless and getting yellows all over the place.
