I love these threads. Every rational choice is available to you. Stuart Holden is not a rational choice.

---------------------GAM--------------

Zusi---------Dempsey----------Donovan

------------Bradley------Williams---------

Johnson--Goodson-Cameron-Cherundolo

---------------------Howard------------

Subs

FWIW, I had a hard time picking between Herc and GAM.

Jozy
Herc
Jones
Klejstan -
Bocanegra
Parkhurst
Edu
Guzan
Rimando

I'd sub Herc in for GAM to start, and possibly Boca for Goodson. Other nine are perfect.

Your probably right.

Herc does all the little things, and he's deadly pushing out wide and putting crosses in.

Still a tough call, both are different in various aspects and both are playing really well right now.

Boca did well last night, but not great(outside of the goal). And he's not really getting minutes for a bottom table divison two team in Spain.

And that plays a lot into what we'll see come hex time.

If we keep playing that high line that Klinsmann wants, our CBs are going to have be quick enough to track back when we're getting hit on the quick counter. The advantage goes to Goodson in that situation, or almost any other younger defender we have.

But Boca IS Captain America, and he showed last night he can still be a threat on set pieces.

I don't know, I really enjoyed jurgens formation last night.

Could have something to do with Guatemala's CBs being out though..

I could see Omar Gonzales or Matt Besler of SKC getting a look at CB soon.

Omar needs to get in a USMNT kit soon.

that is mine too. im not leaving boca out of the 11. i love fabian and dolo playing outside back. bradley and williams sitting behind zusi, dempsey, and donovan looks good. and jozy up top for sure.

eddie johnson is definitely gonna make the squad though after his great performances.

Boca was directly responsible for the last two goals we gave up in WCQ. I say we use him as a sub when we need goals in the pinch. We could just call in Boca to give us a late miracle instead of Gordon.

agreed.

though one happened while he was playing LB, which would have been fine 8 years ago, can't really blame him for the coach putting him in a bad position...so to me, that's more of a coaching mistake.

But essentially it's why I left him on my bench.

I think whoever the second midfielder is, Williams or Jones, they have to play a defensive minded role to help out our CBs which is clearly our weakness right now.

Good thing is that both Jermaine and Danny play that role with their clubs.

Danny
he gon be good. But they should have Bradley push forward have Danny play right around midfield, with him firing long range shots and sending the ball into the box, and have him drop with the defense when the other team gets the ball
