You know what? I don't give a frick. You want the win? TAKE IT. This isn't about Mexico. This is about US winning no matter what. Even when it's all wrapped up, we show our integrity. You play to win the fricking game. Laying down is classless, and cowardly. We don't do that.

But I will tell you this... Regarding Mexico? I don't give a frick about them. I don't care if they qualify or not. Why should I care? They are fourth.

That tweet about the Panamanian players is depressing as shite. I love a win, but if their success came at Mexico's depression, I'd have been alright.

exactly. our lineup was even shakier than the Gold Cup squad. they really dont deserve a trip if they cant win a game like this at home.

They don't. And they didn't play smart and defend after taking the 2-1 lead. They deserved to fail.

Asking the other team to lay down for you is such a gutless approach. It's sad and pathetic to hear that.

You know what is even more depressing, and more shameful? A win out of pity.

Earn it. It sucks, but that's the way of life. Earn it 4 years from now.

Take a look at Honduras. They were ALWAYS on the cusp of qualifying. 2001, all they needed was a win against Trinidad & Tobago and there spot in Japan/SoKo was locked. They laid an egg, losing 0-1 at San Pedro Sula. Followed by an impossible fixture at Azteca they knew they couldn't win. I remember watching the Honduran players crying, and their 'fans' hurled bottles on them from their seats.

Fast forward to 2009. They barely qualify. They worked hard, still needed help from US, but they made it. They were in South Africa. They may not have played well, but they made it. And now they build on that success, and qualify for only the third time ever.

Success is earned, not given.

it was good to see him handle the goal with class. i was worried hed be a little too animated, what with it being a big goal for him and all.

Yeah, we get that rah rah shite but these dudes aren't going to sniff another World Cup. I can't imagine the feeling of it being on your finger tips and then being taken away suddenly. Yeah, they should have defended their lead better and they can't blame us, but I still feel bad for their players. A World Cup appearance would've made their lives.

There is always 2018. People said the same of Honduras back then. Oh, how will they do it without Pavon, and Suazo?

Look at them now. Figueroa is 30. Valladares is ancient. Panama, if they have it within them, will be competing for a spot in 2018.

agreed. cant see how anyone couldnt watch stoppage time and feel some empathy. but they seem like a pretty young squad, and i wouldnt be surprised if they pull a Costa Rica-like run in '18.

I feel bad but at the same time I don't since they were asking for us to lay down.

Makes me think they thought they couldn't go out there and take it.. and ultimately that did them in.
