We're in a group of death and have a good chance of advancing. I just don't know how you can look at all of this and say we have a shite roster.

I agree, FWIW I think the only guaranteed lost is against Germany. They're just too stacked.

not guaranteed by any means.

Player who scored WC berth-clinching goal for #usmnt won’t make final roster for 3rd straight cycle (Ralston ’05, Casey ’09, EJ ’13).

Hell of a random stat that doesn't mean anything.

Yeah I'd say I went too far with the "shite roster" comment, but once we advance from the group stage we'd have to play sound football, we'd have very little room for error.

No shite. It's the world cup. The same goes for every team.

We're going to have to play sound football just to advance!

That phrase applies to every team in the tournament.

Ah you're right, we should probably phone it in and say we tried. Get your pussy mentality out of here

I feel like this is the deepest roster we've ever taken to the WC.

doesn't matter who makes it though, or what point in the tournament each team is at, no one has any room for error.

Chandler's inclusion makes it much more likely that Cameron gets a real shot to challenge Omar at CB, IMO.

It's a problem that Cameron hasn't played CB very often, though. I don't know if there's enough time to both give Omar a chance to claim the spot and give Cameron game time there.

I just wonder if there's an outside shot that Chandler plays LB with FJ at LM and Cameron at RB.

Cameron - Gonzales - Besler - Chandler
Jones/Edu/KB - Bradley
Zusi - Dempsey - FJ

Only way Edu makes the plane is if Jones or Beckerman get hurt right?

The fact that Chandler and Yedlin were brought in tells me that JK has absolutely no confidence in Evans and/or Gonzalez.

I honestly don't think Evans makes the squad.

I would be OK with that. Would give us 3 really good options at wing with Zusi, Cakes, and Fab.

I feel better about Omar than I do Evans.

Same, but that's more of an indictment on Evans as a right back than it is praise for Omar.

Not bad in my prediction over a month ago. Nobody was expecting Chandler and Boyd and GAM's recent forms obviously changes things
