There are times when a striker needs to be greedy. Delap had none of those kinds of chances today… but he took them anyway.

I waiting to judge Delap until he can get some time with Cole serving him alley oops.

He is quite young still.

His gig is being direct.

Knocking the ball off takes experience, and PT with the rest of the squad.

His injury didn’t help matters.

At times.

I would have given him a green light on a couple of occasions.

Again, that is why he was brought on board.

Trading your distributor up top was a dumb move by us. Especially when he also has the ability to take on defenders.

I’m not seeing a lot of difference in Guiu and Delap right now. Guiu brings some serious pressing energy to this thing and an aggressive toughness (see assist on second goal where the defender practically rode on his back). I like Delap and maybe he needs to round out his shape but I’m in favor of giving Guiu more minutes outside of bottom of the table matches.

Delap is going to be compared to Jackson, especially if Jackson never comes back. Nico could do absolutely everything but finish, but he was getting amazing service from CP. Plus CP on the field drew the focus of the defense. I want to see Delap and Palmer play a couple games together to see if he can do what Jackson did and finish.

Fair enough.

My prediction, he will be a better finisher than Jackson, but will not be nearly as creative.

After re-watching the match, I thought that Delap was pretty solid. His runs in the channels were on point, he drifted back to set up in a withdrawn position, and was close to finding a 1-2 with JP a couple of times.

I think with time, he finds those connections.

At this time, however, I believe him to be a step down from Nico.

How will Enzo approach Barca and Arsenal this week? Who plays and who sits, and for how long? We need Caicedo for both matches so he can’t play all 90 against Barca. Santos’ big game against Burnley should give Enzo confidence to have him share some time. Will be interesting to see how he manages this.

Yeah, hadn't thought of this place in a long time. Good to see you are still after it. I'll be around from time to time.

Pedro Neto trying his best to hold the ball up against center backs nearly a foot taller than him was the funniest thing I saw all day.

Give him credit for his effort but he’s a winger. Delap guiu and George have a long way to go yet.

Cucurella is such a beast. Tireless motor. World class and yet still underrated.

Arsenal is next. Huge matchup.
