there were two guys tracking back with two Sunderland players. It was shocking to me how long it took a third blue shirt to show up on screen

that was inexcusable.

Nice first half, shaky second. A lot of second team guys played which is good. Goals for Santos and Gittens are nice. Survive and advance.

fricking Delap gets sent off on stupid red in his first match back. 6 reds in last 9 matches. Unacceptable.

Got the best draw for the Carabao Cup Quarterfinal- Cardiff. Every other match is a PL matchup. Let’s go!

very measured and clinical performance versus a toothless Spurs club today

would have liked one of those late misses for the GD tally

Best performance of the season for me other than not being able to get the 2nd goal to put it away. Caicedo is an absolute dog. What a blessing to go from Makelele to Essien (pretend the Mikel years didn't happen) to Kante to Caicedo.

Spurs were toothless thanks to Caicedo and Enzo. And Cucurella constantly pestering Kudos. We completely nullified their top especially the overrated Richarlison. Doing all this without Palmer. When he comes back, look the F out.

Would love Jared Bowen on this team. He’s terrific. Hammers will be relegated so maybe he’ll come available.

We were disinterested in this match after his goal. Fortunate to get a point. Defense continues to be very leaky.

Cuch BARELY trotted back on the first goal.

He also was standing around with his thumb up his arse during stoppage time when their striker put it right to Sanchez.

Hato was very poor on the second goal.

Garnacho, who nobody wanted, showed why I had no issue with the signing. He is a solid player that can nick the odd goal. His shot at the end was actually quite skillful. Their keeper made a helluva save on it.

Oh well…onto the next match.

Nacho reminds me of Mudryk but more polished. Hes better than I thought. A good piece. Now go get some defensive help.

Colwill was such a vital part of last year's end of the season run. The biggest missed of the summer transfer portal was failing to find someone to hold his spot. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.

I saw on twitter that in 98 minutes of game time there was actually on 46 minutes of play due to Qarabag stalling and the reff being so bad

18 min in the first half
28 min in the second half

I agree but we need to adjust to that tactic. Blues will generally be more talented than most teams they play, and need to figure out how to attack 5 in the back and/or teams stalling.

Know who he doesn’t remind me of?

Sterling. And that’s plenty good enough for me.

Does anyone else think Maresca might not be it?

i know we have alot of competitions this year, it was a long summer, and injuries, but the endless rotations seem to be part of the problem.

You cant buy all these guys and then not play them, thats even worse for the dressing room. The problem is our back line just isnt very good.

I don’t mind the rotation. We’re deep and you want to get people playing minutes for all comps. But he has his solid guys- Enzo, JP, Neto, Cucurella, Sanchez, Cole when healthy, Caicedo, Reese. They always play big minutes in big matches. We need better defenders bottom line.
