Clint, Carli, and lalas just affirming that Gregg is not the guy to lead the team. 2 years too late.

No worries. I’m sure our upcoming friendlies against Canada and New Zealand will help us figure it out.

Well thank you USMNT, you carried me into July where I will take a small break from sports until EPL begins.

I would legitimately rather have Emma Hayes as our coach than GGG and I’m not sure it’s even close.

College is nothing more than a last chance route. Our talent should and will continue to come from MLS youth academies

How likely is it that just 30 or so MLS youth academies identify all the highest potential players in our massive country? How do they even go about that unless it’s kids local to their area or attending pay-for-play travel tournaments?

In the England squad, many players spent portions of their youth careers at low league or even non-league clubs. As cwill said, ideally we could have a true pyramid system in the U.S., but I think that’s a pipe dream based on how MLS and U.S. pro sports function.

I’m viewing the university youth camps, which universities host for almost every sport they sponsor, as scouting hubs to feed the MLS or even USL academies. The more opportunity for early exposure to a serious level of play, the better.

Nothing is more infuriating than his data driven player profile bullshite.

There’s no way our expected goals was high in tonight’s game, right? Our best chance was the Balogun offside.

Damn this is depressing. Even Bolivia won and finished 2nd the two times they hosted. They do have an altitude advantage though.

Is that not pay for play? No poor kids that may be the next big thing are going to those camps.

Taking the stat out of context like Gregg is doing makes it worthless. If you don't have players who can finish a goal and make a good last touch, it's wholly irrelevant how many times better players SHOULD score. His job is to manufacture goals with what we have.

Better chance in other sports for those kids to get a scholarship in other sports too.

Soccer players should never be playing for a scholarship. They should be looking to break into an MLS roster by 16 or 17 and a move to Europe by the time they are 19 or 20

That's the thing, if you're not picked up by 16 then you're likely not going anywhere.

I think we all feel now about the USMNT how LSU fans felt about Les Miles late in the 2015 season and into the 2016 season. The coach clearly isn’t the right guy to lead the team to where we want, and there is no hope of progress until a new coach is appointed. Apathy and disappointment will loom over the team unless we hire a new coach. And it can’t be a Coach O kind of hire. That won’t miraculously work for the USMNT like it did for LSU. The people who run the USSF are about as incompetent as Joe Alleva.

The team look no better than they did in Qatar. Some of that is down to the individual players’ careers regressing or stagnating since then, but Gregg’s system clearly fails to generate consistent goals. We have a 10/10 effort in terms of intensity tonight (not quality) and still barely threatened Uruguay’s goal.

There was certainly some bad luck in this tournament. Weah’s red card really hurt and Uruguay’s goal tonight was offside and shouldn’t have counted. But we still barely generated a true chance in a game we needed to win. Gio’s cross around the 12th minute was our best chance of the match.

The players might love Gregg and play hard for him, but the whole thing has gotten stale. Hopefully the USSF has enough prudence to make a change and surprises us all. The fanbase seems 100% unified for a change, and much of the media now, too. All 4 of the FOX panel openly called for a change.
