And saying I'd rather need a tie is a statement to the matchup against Portugal. They're missing a couple key players and Ronaldo is might be gimpy, but Dempsey is dealing with a broken nose and Altidore is out. I think a tie is likely

Not true. Portugal would have been at 1 point and would have to crush Ghana by 4+ goals to advance.

Yeah. They could have finished with 4 just the same. People count them out cause of the massive goal difference.
If we draw Portugal we could be in a decent position depending on how willing Germany is to cooperate. We could play to a boring draw with them as well. The Ghana/Portugal winner could only get 4 and consecutive draws would leave us and the Germans on 5. They take the group on goal difference and we claim 2nd.
I would rather just win tomorrow.
