Still can't make a challenge like that whether you're inside or outside the box.
Keepers aren't exempt from committing fouls.

Like Mcbro said they get way more leeway when playing the ball.

welp, not really sure what you can take away from this match, but this squad sure as hell played harder and tougher on a chilly tuesday night, in a far away land in a relatively meaningless game than the squad that was playing t&t for a world cup birth. so... ...i guess

Did anyone debut today besides Adams, CCV, and McKinnie?

No, but Sapong got his first cap since 2012.

I think the referee also took into account that CCV had his foot raised, too. If CCV goes for the header and the keeper flails his feet like he did, it's probably a penalty. As it was, both of them were kicking high, so who do you call for the foul, even though the keepers kick was more dangerous.

I didn't mean literally. Just saying, leeway should go by the wayside if a keeper puts his cleats in the air instead of his hands.

Well, how did everyone look?
Not sure if serious, but I honestly didn't get to watch much. Just listened mostly.
From what I did watch, looked pretty damn sloppy in the first 15-20 minutes, then found somewhat of a rhythm the rest of the half until our keeper shite the bed. I expected hiccups for obvious reasons. It should have been a win, so it's hard to not be happy with the result. But it's just one game that was a friendly. I would have liked to have seen what Sargent would have done up top, and hopefully he can play in one of the other friendlies coming up.

Back line looked as solid as you could have hoped, especially since they were having to deal with the pace of Martins, Bruma and Guedes. Brooks looked very good.
I thought the midfield looked pretty solid. Williams, Acosta and McKennie all looked pretty good I thought.
McKennie scored, but it was in part due to horrible defending from a Portugal player making his debut. Regardless, he took his chance calmly and slotted home which is always harder than most think.
Sapong and Agudelo didn't look too hot IMO. Granted, neither had been a part of the National Team in a good while, especially CJ.
Horvath was awful. I expect Hamid to be the No. 2 guy behind Guzan moving forward or the FC Dallas kid.
Like Sub said, it should have been a win. We were great in the air and on crosses just failed to convert. The two misses that I remember were from Adams (fantastic save, but not a clinical finish by him) and I believe CCV hit the bar. Would have been a quality finish.

My mistake. CCV was the one who collided with Beto then, right? That was a half-chance.

Looking at the replay, I think it was CCV, both got a piece of it though.

He made one very large error, but that doesn't suddenly push him to 1/2 -> 4th.

Brugge benched him. He’s struggling.
We have other keepers who are playing better than he is. Not saying we give up on him or anything, but he is in the middle of a rough spell.

I was only able to make it through the first 20 or so minutes last night but the one thing that immediately jumped out to me was the energy from the midfield especially on defense. That high press was giving Portugal fits early on and forcing them into some bad turnovers. Honestly haven't seen that kind of effort collectively from our midfield in a very long time
**obviously just basing this on the part of the game I saw
