Couldnt ask for a better result. Now what do we root for. Paraguay to play well so we have a chance to win the group with a win? Or paraguay to play badly to give us a chance to advance with a draw?

I'd very much prefer Colombia just beating Paraguay.

Paraguay aren't amazing but they're certainly no pushovers either. They have some serious talent on their roster even if there's not a lot of "even" depth.

Just needing a draw to advance even if Costa Rica were to upset Colombia seems much safer.

That's a great question. The conservative play is to root for Colombia to win 5-0. Unfortunately it means we will likely get Brazil second round.

In relation to this and the 5-0 Colombia guidance....

*Hilary Clinton* What does it matter!

There is no scenario where we tie Paraguay in points so their goal differential doesn't matter.

Spitballing - wouldn't a tie be optimal? Tie/Win still gets us in, but 1st in the group has more possible combinations?

I understand a Paraguay win is probably worst case scenario

Honestly, Brazil isn't really that "scary" in this tournament. If there was ever a time that I'd want to face them, it's now. Especially because Neymar didn't hang out with me in NYC and went to a fricking Mets game instead. Typical Neymar move.

I wonder where he will play next year. Great talent, just wholly necessary at Madrid
