We know Steffen starting and pulisic on the bench. I’d like a starting lineup of:

Pepi
Aaronsson/Musah
Busio/mckennie/Adams
A. Rob/ M. Rob/zimmerman/Yedlin
Steffen

Bring pulisic off bench to go get goal is needed. Bring arriola off the bench to protect lead.

I want Busio starting in the midfield to give a little more defense than musah, but want musah on the field to give us someone who can really go directly at the Mexican back line.

Give me:

Aaronson-Pepi-Weah
McKennie/Musah
Adams
A.Rob/M.Rob/Richards/Yedlin
Steffen

I wouldn't be opposed to Arriola in place of Weah, his final product sucks, but he always finds himself in dangerous spots against Mexico and with the talent around him, hopefully that can lead to a goal.

If you're starting Steffen (which we are), you should be starting Richards, Miles Robinson, Antonee Robinson and Scalley (although that won't happen given it's his first camp - we will likely see Yedlin). Starting a ball playing goalkeeper only helps if the back line in front of him is also able to play out of a press - something Richards and Scally can do better than Zimmerman and Yedlin.

Adams, McKennie, Musah/Busio

Aaronson, Pepi, and Weah.

Subs: Pulisic, Musah/Busio

Steffen really isn’t good with his feet although he plays at City where he’s supposed to be good with his feet

Cincy sounds like its going balls to the wall for this. The atmosphere will be electric

U.S. Soccer’s biggest challenge vs. Mexico: Making a home game an actual home game

quote:

That choice alone, though, didn’t ensure that stars and stripes would fill the stands. Behind the scenes, U.S. Soccer’s commercial department refined the process that does. They grant exclusive ticket access to a variety of groups with ties to the American soccer establishment. For Friday’s game in Cincinnati, they designed a “weighted random draw,” essentially stacking a lottery in favor of fans who pay to be U.S. Soccer “Insiders.”

The first batch of tickets went to fans who pay a $500 annual membership fee. The second and third went to lower-level paying members. The fourth was available to recognized U.S. supporters groups, such as the American Outlaws, and to FC Cincinnati’s MLS season-ticket holders. Only the fifth and final batch was available to non-paying “Insiders.” In total, according to a federation spokesman, there were requests for more than 30,000 tickets. Requests for around 10,000 tickets were left unfulfilled. The general public never got access

That's good to hear that the process seemed to have worked.

Just have to hope that tickets didn't find their way to the secondary market.

Some obviously did/will but they are going for almost $400 a piece before fees. That'll get pricey for anyone trying to travel and go to the game. And Cincy has a miniscule Hispanic population with the nearest stronghold being 5 hours away in Chicago

According to some on this site, Lainez was the second coming of Messi after the US game
Unfortunately some US players didn't get the memo that he only has one leg.

Cincy is buzzing today, think you’re gonna see a lot of Red, White and Blue in the stands

All this makes sense to me. But I didn’t think Steffen was all that known for his distribution. I thought his primary skill set is athletic shot stopping. I kind of assume Berhalter thinks we’ll see more shots on goal and wants Steffen in there for that ability.

Have to say I would have started turner in this game 100%.
