2 mediocre sides battling it out for the chance to fly into the sun of Messi's brilliance

I'm concerned bc NBA finals will likely be the draw at all places save for dedicated football pubs

ESPN is giving us a 52% chance of advancing. That's lower than I would give us. I would say 70%. Home crowd gives us a big boost.

Can you bottle that confidence up and send some my way, please? I'll pay for shipping and handling.

No shite. I'm expecting PKs to be honest

FIFA rankings are largely bullshite, but Ecuador currently sits at #13 in the world and they've got two Valencias and a Montero that are pretty good at this game

I'm skeptical of the US advancing. It seems too perfect an opportunity. It seems ripe for us fricking it up.

Yep, it feels very 2010-ish when we had Ghana in the round of 16 and Uruguay waiting in the quarters. All of the sudden, we looked like a darkhorse semifinal squad.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm going to the game as well, so I'm also dampening my expectations.

I'm really pessimistic about tonight. Just a gut feeling. Probably because I don't trust Jurgen and I don't like the Montero matchup without Yedlin's recovery speed.

I'm skeptical because Ecuador is good and I'm not sure what we are.

I just hope they don't have false-confidence from beating them in a friendly 3 weeks ago.
