I don't like the Montero matchup without Yedlin's recovery speed.
This worries me more than anything.
I was at the friendly a couple weeks ago and Yedlin did a great job covering him up. I'm afraid he is going to constantly penetrate thy anus.

HUGE game tonight, I have a ton riding on this game

I'm expecting PKs to be honest
Doesn't it go straight to PKs after 90 minutes? Thought I remember reading that somewhere

In the quarters and semis. Finals plays ET and penalties. Pretty stupid, not a fan.

Montero and A Valencia will cause us problems no matter who we start or how well they defend. The best way to relieve that pressure is to make them track back defensively, IMO, so I hope Jurgen goes positive with lineup and gameplan.
We match up well top to bottom from a talent perspective and are playing at home. We should act accordingly.
I think the defense comes up big, and we score on a set piece or two.

Thats why I love St Louis. Everyone loves Soccer and everyone hates the NBA.

Yeah that's dumb

If they're gonna do something like that I would rather see golden goal. I forgot how pissed I am about the straight to penalties rule.

I could be wrong, but I feel like we weren't effective last time until we put Pulisic and Nagbe in.

Just seems to reinforce the "glorified exhibition" status of the tournament. That's the format you play in preseason club friendly tours. Stupid.

Well, that's exactly what this is. A glorified exhibition and money grab.

I enjoy watching Copa matches more than Euro. Wish it wasn't in the states with dozens of people filling the stands for most matches.

Yeah you aren't totally wrong.
We weren't great, but we definitely generated most of the play, surprisingly and Ecuador spent most of the game countering.
When Pulisic and Nagbe came in, it was more of an energy boost than anything.

seriously?
Posted on 6/16/16 at 11:41 am to Mr. Shankly
Yes. It's more of a party. Just an entirely different feel to them. I'm still watching every single Euro match, though.

The thought of Orozco trying to defend Montero for 90 makes my arse pucker. Whoever is playing wide right better be prepared to be very isolated in attack as well

I'm skeptical of the US advancing. It seems too perfect an opportunity. It seems ripe for us fricking it up.
I would feel more confident if we had a coach who understood tactics.

I don't see how. Honestly. To me, ESPN always kills it with these international tournaments. The broadcasts, the studio stuff, the picture, better commentators and tv personalities. All of it. Fox is brutal. Other than the US games, I have a hard time watching the games on Fox.

Or if, you know, we brought more than 1 RB to the tournament with us. Crazy thought
