because this group needs that measuring stick ahead of World Cup qualifying.

There’s my reasoning. Plus I don’t get giddy for any concacaf matchup outside of Mexico.

Surprised to see them all the way up at #11 in intl rankings still but playing them and Swiss’ Euro squad ranked at #13 over the course of a couple weeks are good barometers of where we are.

And we play Costa Rica in a friendly like 4 days later, so it'd be pretty lame to play them back to back like that.

The "Puto" vs. "You suck a-hole" dueling chants will be tasty on Sunday

Is the same roster playing Costa Rica? Or is that going to be the Gold Cup squad?

Same roster, except Daryl Dike will be added. It's part of this same camp.

Thanks. Does someone have to get dropped for Dike?

Watching the highlights of the match and the goal celebration is just so cool.

Siebatcheu runs straight to Dike on the sidelines and those two physical specimens make an earthquake with their hug. Dike must've told Siebatcheu something before he went on, because he ran right to him after the goal. Also, Musah running with the subs was probably more excited than Siebatcheu was for the goal.

frick man, this player pool is so likable, it's going to be so fun if/when they put it all together and start bossing shite.

Starts on Sunday.

I have a lot of positivity about our player pool and what they can do when they start to really gel as a team. We haven’t had a full healthy starting 11 for a single game during Gregg’s tenure. That said some earlier subs and tactical flexibility would make me feel better about Berhalter. Still, we need guys like Reyna, Sargent, and Pulisic to finish their chances in front of goal. That’s what made Dempsey and Donovan so invaluable was that they were clinical.

Agreed with all of this. I think Reyna will get there shortly, dude is still 18 and has already shown glimpses. Pulisic not having a lethal shot is the only thing holding him back from being a top 5 player in the world.

It was Dikes birthday today, so I took it as they wanted to celebrate his birthday with the first goal.

He needs to sub earlier and adjust his tactics when things aren’t working. He has shown up to this point to be incredibly tactically inflexible

Nice to see you coming around

He’s trying to force a square peg into a hole with this squad

He’s fricking stubborn and it’s going to bite us in the arse

My sons team plays against a Honduran or El Salvadoran team based in Kenner and I swear they do the same shithousery you saw tonight. Flopping everywhere, pushing and slamming into our kids, bitching at the ref. It’s like they are taught that style from birth.

We were at a tournament for one of my kids this last spring and stopped to watch a game of older boys. It turned out to be basically the Haitian U16 squad from what I was told. Looked pretty good for a youth squad, but there were a couple kids flopping all over the place, which you don't see in our youth up here.

The one tournament I still do as a youth referee is a college showcase event. I was on a break and went to watch the end of the game before my next one and it was a U19 boys game between a Haitian club from Miami and a Hispanic club from Atlanta.

I swear I was watching a CONCACAF qualifier. The level of whining and shithousery was off the charts. I felt bad for the match referee (a Regional Referee who is a good friend and I have worked with many times); it was crazy.
