after Sunday... all of the last 10 Gold Cups have been won by either the USA or Mexico
the last team to win the Gold Cup not named USA or Mexico... Canada in 2000
ETA: in fact... Canada's win in 2000 is the ONLY Gold Cup to NOT go to either the USA or Mexico as both were eliminated in the QFs (USA by Colombia in PKs... Mexico by Canada)... the semifinalists in 2000 were Canada, Colombia, Peru, & Trinidad & Tobago

You must have a 17 jersey. Your inability to be critical of his shortfalls says fanboy. Might as well be talking to a Lebron lover

Dude you’re just wrong. Go away.

The other MLS teams are trying to duplicate their success. RSL, Philly, NY Red Bulls, and Colorado have good academies, too. And watch out for Seattle, LAFC, Atlanta, and NYCFC in a few years
I think you just named the entire MLS.

If Hyndman gets consistent playing time over the next two years I think he has the tools to be a national team contributor.
I met some Fulham fans in London recently, and they were shitting on Hyndman hard. Hyndman and Zelalem have technical ability though. I don't know if either will ever be a contributor.

I'm not sure what your ultimate point is? Zardes could never do the hold up play that Jozy does, and Zardes's movement isn't good enough to compensate for his poor touch. Zardes does provide endless running, but I don't think he should be getting call-ups. Jozy at least provides pretty standard hold-up play.

If I had to rank academies:
1. FC Dallas by a mile
2. RSL
3. Philly
4. LAG
5. Seattle
6. NYRB

Why? Are they salty he left them to try his luck in the prem? I wish he had stayed. He probably would have several years of consistent play under his belt if he had.

No, they just said he sucked, and couldn't make a forward pass. They didn't go much more into it.

What is the STL/KC outlook?

My point is Jozy gives to ball up way more often than y’all are alluding to, if they tracked turnovers or unforced errors those stats would show he’s a weak point and if he’s gonna be the veteran starting striker he needs be better or it’s time to start grooming younger players before ‘22

Kind of forgot about SKC. They’re up there too but have only produced about three guys who got semi regular first team minutes.

Even if that were true, Zardes's error that led to the Jamaica goal was egregious. He didn't draw the defender with him upfield, which allowed the defender to read his turn and make the tackle. Zardes had 2 more errors in the center of the field which caught the US in transition. Those are fundamentally more important errors than Jozy's, in my view.

I’m not advocating on Zardes being the long term answer he has his own shortfalls, and his touch, tonight for sure, isn’t any better than Jozy.

Those player analytics wearables make everyone look like they've got a history of scoliosis.
