I hope Gregg and Brooks can work out whatever issues they have.

Even then, Brooks is a terrible partner to Zimmerman, considering they both are slow as shite.

We really need Richards to be healthy this winter. He's the most complete CB we have in terms of speed, 1v1 and ball control.

If CCV keeps his form and is playing well for Celtic and competing in Champions League he could very well play himself into the starting 11.

I think CCV has been awesome back there.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that CCV has mostly played with Long. I think GGG is worried about the speed of CCV and Zimmerman together playing a high back line and views CCV as a backup for Zimmerman.

I think when healthy, excluding Brooks for obvious reasons, the depth chart looks like this

LCB: Richards/Long
RCB: Zimmerman/CCV

God I hate our coach.

The guy who gave us 3 wins against Mexico, two trophies, WCQ with the youngest team ever, who has created a team camaraderie not seen in over a decade, and who recruits like Saban? That coach?

Something wild about the turnover CB has gone through just in the last year... when Gregg took our first choice squad to Nations League semis and finals, our CBs in camp were Brooks, Ream, McKenzie and Miazga.

ETA: Also debunking the Gregg's favorites fallacy, Sebastian Lletget hasn't played a match for the USMNT since 10/11/21 and hasn't been back in camp since, after being included in every camp since the team reconvened post-COVID in November 2020.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. And yet Nips, Roldan, and Morris remain. No need to simp for the guy.

Morris showed nothing last night. Nips was ok vs Grenada but our attack died against Uruguay when he replaced Weah in the second half. Roldan has only gotten sub minutes vs Grenada.

I get building our B team depth which is smart to do, but not playing Busio, who is clearly a more skilled player, is missing the plot. Heck, try Cannon at wing.

Morris is just “hE PlaYeD aT sTAnForD!” dumb.

Did he though? Depends on your expectations of what’s he’s to do on the field. If possession and set up man is what you want, then he serves the purpose. But you can’t say he’s worse than Morris at least, or even has a lower ceiling.

Also your statement could be said for many of Gregggg’s players.

Busio is one for the future imo. I agree with etm in that he hasn’t shown enough to warrant continued inclusion. He would be competing with LDLT, Musah, McKennie, Aaronson, and Reyna for an 8 position. And honestly right now he brings less to the table than Roldan.

Also I’m not sure why you think he would be in competition with Morris. They play completely different positions. You have this weird penchant for wanting players to play out of position, usually over players who are better in said position (see: Richards playing left back over Robinson, our clear starter )

Are you under the idea that these two guys play the same position?

He argued that Shaq Moore should play on the wing earlier, you can’t take anything he says seriously.

Also, LOL at him saying I’m simping for Gregg

He wants us to try cannon as a winger for some reason and then shits on Gregg for being tactically inept

Morris played up who was subbed for Roldan who is a winger. Busio played both center mid and winger for Venezia. It’s not an outlier position. But beside the point, Busio is more skilled than Morris in any position.
