UEFA WCQ Playoff Match-Ups

Portugal-Sweden, Ukraine-France, Greece-Romania, Iceland-Croatia

That actually takes what I think are the best four and matches them up so that only 2 make the WC.
Kind of hate it from a "not going to see this team" perspective. But kind of like it in that, maybe we won't have a group of death perspective.

There will be more than one group of death with the way the seeding is going to play out. This is going to be an insane group stage. One or more of a pre-tournament favorite will not get to the knock out stage.

CONCACAF should be stripped of 2 World Cup spots and granted to UEFA. I have followed this conference for the last 4 years and it's some of the worst soccer I have seen in a while. Sweden and Ukraine likely won't qualify, but would take spots 1 and 2 in CONCACAF qualification.

It's a World Cup though. It's not the 32 best teams in the world, it's 32 teams that best represent the world. The uefa teams all have a shot in qualifying.
Besides the last 20 years, since the US got its shite together, concacaf had consistently outperformed Asia, which gets an extra team, and has been about equal to Africa when you factor in that they always bring at least one more team

After playing around with that seeding generator from the other thread, not only did I hate every group we got put it, but looking at the others, there was at most only one group that looked soft.

Maybe so, but Guadeloupe, Curacao, and Aruba just to name a few, probably wouldn't. There's plenty of these little islands that are just no good. But maybe I'm wrong, cause honetly, I don't watch them play. Maybe Saint Martin has good players, but idk.

Just looked at FIFA rankings and San Marino is tied at 207 with Turks and Caicos for last place. So idk, maybe they wouldn't beat these islands

Maybe in UEFA they should just eliminate one of the groups and have some of the teams at the bottom of UEFA like San Marino and the Faroe Islands go into a playoff to get into a group.

yeah UEFA groups are easier IMO bc you have mainly crap at the bottom like San Marino, Andorra, Scotland, etc.
