We have always played well against top teams under Ole because we are best when not in possession and can hit teams on the counter. The smaller teams that just pack it in on defense are where we struggle.
I’m halfway serious in believing we should have kept Lukaku and started him against every non top 6 squad. He scores all of his goals against mid and bottom tier competition. We’d probably be in 2nd right now lol.
Of course, having an injury plagued squad with an extremely thin midfield and no Pogba for the better part of the season so far was always going to lead to issues.
