Alisson was with Klopp for his presser today, and talked about how he pushed the doctors to cut his rehab time for the injury in half.

Anyone have a link to stream the game today without signing up for CBS Live? I looked for the Reddit sports stream site but couldn’t find it.

Fabinho taken off with a hamstring injury.

You reap what you sow, FSG. fricking negligent not replacing Lovren.

Wait, why are we instantly putting this on FSG? Klopp has shown exactly ZERO anger/unhappiness with the decision, and you know he's got hella control over just about every aspect of this club right now.

I'm not saying it wasn't a bad decision, but uhhh why are we not questioning the manager at all over it?

What does one expect to get in the transfer market when shopping for a 4th CB? Who is signing up to be the fourth cb? Is it smart to spend 50 M on a cb to be the number 2 when you’ve already got two good number twos?
Ake cost over 40 M and when everyone is healthy wouldn’t make the bench. This run of injuries sucks but the transfer window wouldn’t solve this. We’ve got to hope Matip gets back and the midfield gets healthy. Then adjust our play to cover when the teenager is back there.

Semi-related, props to Rhys Williams for stepping up, I was only half watching the game, but he didn't look entirely out of place back there

Ehhh, they’ve sown our first EPL Title, a UCL Title, 2 other European finals, and a handful of other minor trophies. Our books are balanced, we aren’t leveraged, and we’ve (don’t quote me), doubled the overall valuation of the club.

Like another poster said, Klopp has admitted that he doesn’t have monopoly funds like others, and that for Liverpool to work, he’s got to operate within certain spending parameters. He doesn’t seem upset by this. VVD, Gomez, Matip, and Fabinho are a fantastic trio of CBs. Fabinho also happens to be our best #6 and our backup-backup RB. Would it be nice to have the depth of City or Chelsea? Sure. But we aren’t that club, especially with the cash shortfalls from fricking COVID. We’ll be ok. Time for others to step up. Tsimikas and Rhys/Neco Williams are going to have to put on their big boy pants and stake their claims. Time for the future to reveal itself.

Williams did play well, but wasn't really put under much pressure. It'll be interesting if Klopp goes with him at the weekend (assuming Matip is still out) or puts Gini or Hendo back there. I'm struggling to see other options..

Personally, I think we've rode our luck with a thin squad at times over the past couple of years, but it's worked out in the end... I was hoping to get in a 4th CB, even if it was a Klavan type... It became evident that with Thiago coming in, Fabinho would be the 4th CB option...

I honestly think we need 2 CBs now.. The one we never replaced and Matip cannot be relied on... He's still good when healthy, but thats becoming far to infrequent..

Ive read a few people push the idea of bringing in Garay (currently with no club)... I think the club really needs to consider that or someone like that, right now...

At this point you have VVD down for the foreseeable future, your emergency plan who is also one of the best DM's on the planet is out. You figure in Matip has started like 2 matches in a year and absolutely cannot stay on the pitch. That leaves you kids who have never played and were not expecting to see the pitch in a significant match this year. Let's add that we look to be the best team in England still and have a real shot at Europe again. I think you are now looking for a Number 2 CB in January and not a Number 4 considering all of the factors listed above. I keep seeing Upamecano linked in January and it's the right club for us along with a Edward's like price. I always thought we were going to look for a #2 to pair with VVD in the Summer but the timeline looks to have been pushed up. Who the hell knows nobody saw Jote or Fabinho coming at all.

I'll add that I think we need a CB who is good in the air with VVD out...

Go figure it's Gomez not Phillips who makes a mistake to put us behind... We're still dominating possession, so I feel like we can turn this around, but frustrating again

Wasn't just his mistake... TAA letting that cross in and no MF'er tracking the run of Fornals...
