Hey Martin Tyler why don't you frick off. How many times you going to go on about 2 decisions for Mo? Your side kick said numerous times both calls were correct.

damn.... I love Alisson's confidence in goal, not once did he was he shook. with him and general van dyke commanding the back line, i haven't felt this confident in our defense since Rafa left.

Just finished watching, couple of thoughts:

Keita is going to be amazing for us, he was MotM today again.

Robertson's work rate is fricking incredible.

Alisson had actual work to do today, but looked damn strong back there, love that we signed him.

Couldn't help but think that with those corners at the end that in years past we would give up the late equalizer, instead we have a ruthless counter and seal it away.

Also, Gomez continues to look the part next to VVD, if we can have a solid partnership in front of goal that'll go a long way this year

This is going to be a fun ride this year

I don't think I've ever watched us play at Selhurst Park and wasn't on edge the whole game

He was huge today

He was great today. Not called into action a ton, but he cleaned up everything that came his way. One potential knock on him was that he didn't always hang on to shots or balls in his area, but he held onto everything or at least had the save on the free kick where he just put out of play and gave them no chance

As good as he was last game, he was about 5x as good today. What a game going up against Benteke and Zaha.

Still having to pinch myself with how we got VVD, Keita, and Alisson. They've just made as so much more balanced as a team and solidified us as a whole. And it's amazing to me how each of them has slotted into the team so flawlessly. They seriously look like they've been with this team since Klopp got here.

Random thought, but Klopp is going to have his hands full in trying to pick the right midfield. Don't get me wrong, our midfield was very good today in shutting their counters down and helping to preserve the clean sheet. That said, I thought we could've used more creativity and I thought this would have been a great game to have Shaqiri on to roam in the space between their midfield and back line to reek havoc. That said, that would've likely made us more unbalanced and more vulnerable on the counter so I can't really fault Klopp here, but was just thinking that when we were struggling to break them down.

They're a scary side with their counter obviously and they were great in maintaining their compactness and organization while reading our usual avenues of attack so we're going to have to step up in breaking these sides down. Right now, that's the difference between us and City.

But big 3 points on the road against a tough opponent in a very tough place to play. I'll take it

Thought for sure we'd see him around the 75th minute with the 1-0 score line

Get your concern there but this is still a side with a ton of new players in it.

Palace is a SOLID team. And say what you want about Woy but he's one of the best in the business at playing park the bus/counter.

2-0 at Selhurst is about all you can hope for. Lot's of stuff just wasn't really coming off in the box.

Still feel really really good about it and this win.

One of those turns by Keita down in our half to start the counter was RIDIC.

The one where he immediately found Salah over the top?

That thing was gorgeous

Oh I 100% get I'm nitpicking. I'm just not used to us being so defensively solid, but get that their is a trade off to get that which means we sacrifice some in the attack.

Our front 3 just looked a little more stranded today and seemed like they needed more help to connect the midfield and attack beyond Keita which is why I think Firmino started dropping deeper. That was just one of my thoughts maybe about 30 minutes into the match while we were struggling to break them down, but that said, I'll absolutely take a 2-0 win at Selhurst every day of the week no matter how it comes.

That was beautiful. Salah's first touch was almost too perfect as he brought it to a dad stop basically onto his knee

Yeah, If that doesn't hit his knee, it's almost certainly 1-0 right there

Slow your role. Did you see what Big Virgil did today?

Think both are fair choices, I just thought even without the finishing, Keita was the one out there creating our chances.

VVD was brilliant as well for sure, no problem with him being named MotM either

When healthy does Lovren slot back in as first choice or does Gomez keep getting the nod?

Salah easily could have had 2-3.

We're creating a ton of chances, they will start falling and coming off.

Despite them all being in the WC there is still going to be some rust and getting a feel for Keita running the show.

Going to be a great season. City looks 100% up to the task as well. Huge statement after losing the magical ginger.

I couldn't help sneaking a peak at the score at work, but just finished it...

VVD is immense... IMO the best CB in the EPL... no doubt.. Gomez looked very good beside him. Alisson looks to be worth every penny.. his distribution is so good..

Naby was excellent and Gini played really well.. Such a luxury to bring Fabinho around slowly..

Front 3 wasn't clicking, but still got the job done.. like many said already, we usually frick these up..

LOL at the folks I was reading that said a) that wasn't a penalty b) it wasn't a red card... both nailed on and clear..

Also, good luck to Loris Karius... I hope he takes the chance to rebuild his career.. he's still got good potential and relatively young for a keeper...

I guess Migs is around for another year... fair enough, but its time he move on too... Identify a #2 and ship him off as soon as we can..

Live it looked like he got the ball but the touch was just a little heavy.

Slow motion it was 100% definitive. No question about it.

And a straight red without question.

Wan-Bissaka. Had a ton of really nice plays earlier in the game so unlucky for him but it was what it was.

So nice to have the feeling that we're just going to GET ONE eventually rather than truly feeling like we won't be able to break a side down.

Miles from where we were 2-3 seasons ago.
