like a Wanyama? He would be immense...

I'd love to get a Carvalho...

Look at the big difference Casemiro makes in the RM squad... huge..

Yes on every point you made. I'm not saying it would cure all of the shitty defense we are displaying but damn it would help.

Haha then he can enjoy watching the World Cup from his couch.

Zero chance he strikes. This is just lazy seanationalist journalism.

After all the guys we've poached from Southampton, and didn't give him a look. I can't believe he plays for Tottenham now.

It's a joke that Everton has spent 140mil this summer on players that will improve their squad and we actually needed players and have spent what 40-55mil. I know the window isn't over but it's year after year and it doesn't matter who the manager is but we continue to have awful transfer windows. The last positive transfer window I recall is that winter window where we brought in sturridge and Phil. I honestly thought this was the window where we spent money like the big boys and really made a title chase. Very disappointing window. I hope something changes in the remaining weeks

Edit: ok mane last season was really nice but not getting a LB was head scratching

Released 4 hrs ago by the BBC...

Van Dijk is NOT for sale

LINK

quote:

The Netherlands centre-back, 26, handed in a transfer request last week and it is understood he wanted to move to Premier League rivals Liverpool.

"Virgil is not for sale this window - it's not personal," Krueger said of Van Dijk, who joined from Celtic in 2015.

Southampton are also considering a move for Lazio's Dutch defender Wesley Hoedt for a reported £15m fee.

BBC Sport understands the 23-year-old is one of several centre-backs the club are considering as a potential partner for Van Dijk.

"Its not personal."

Southampton are going to ruin what they're good at on account of delusional dreams.

Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

If I'm a young up-and-comer in football now and I had my choice between So'ton and other clubs of their stature, So'ton would trail the list because of their new admiration for Ric Astley tunes.

We paid what? 20 Million for BOTH of them?

We're pathetic.

The WE in this yearly transfer frick up is FSG. They run us like the Red Sox. I know that JK is at fault also here but better understanding of this environment from the top would be able to influence the manager to target Plan B's and that the club would be willing to pay for these players. Another issue is closing the deal, I get that Keita and VVD weren't for sale but you either move on or if your manager says "these are the guys I really need" you make it impossible to turn down certain numbers. We have not done that with either. That apology letter was weak arse shite also from our owners. And spare me the you don't overpay for players bullshite, these people haven't spent anything for a Big Six club in 5 Windows, they can afford to overpay on certain players.

So you're saying that FSG should NOT allow Klopp to run the club as he sees fit?

Because it seems to me after FSG/upper management says "here's the money you asked for, now go out and buy the players you want" that the onus after that is NOT on FSG/upper management, but on the man who has final responsibility about who to purchase and when.

And that man is Klopp.

I totally understand where you are coming from. The only issue I have is that we have had the same issues spending enough or closing the deal now with two different managers. When we first got FSG I thought they would be very good at righting the ship which they have, my concern then and now is their ability to take the next step financially to keep us at a level to truly challenge for the PL and Europe. I love Klopp but would also like to have someone that can have an alternative plan from the top and not be counter productive with the manager. Just my two cents, I personally feel this window has been the most frustrating of my tenure as a supporter, we are so close and I do not think we have truly done everything we can to sway some clubs. I hope I am wrong here and we grab some starters here in the next couple of weeks. I am just at my wit's end right now.

You and me both, brother. I very much agree that if nothing more is done it will be a HUGE missed opportunity. And I also don't think FSG should be removed from their share of that responsibility.

I just don't think anyone but the proverbial oil sheikhs or chinese robber barons have the wherewithal to spend whatever they want when they want it willy-nilly. Unfortunately, FSG are neither of these.

YNWA!

So, if L'Equipe is being truthful, Julian Draxler is now surplus to PSG's needs.

FOR GODS SAKE PURCHASE THIS PLAYER.

He's one of my favorite players to watch and I would love to have him. Could we play him through the middle bc I think he could be a great replacement for Phil if that's the case.

In non-transfer news, Sturridge back in full training and should be available Saturday for Palace... Do we think he gets a start with the 2nd leg of the playoff during the week?

Phil still out with his "back injury"

I would rest Bobby for the Hoffenheim tilt at Anfield next week, so I'd be fine starting either Studge or Solanke this weekend.

Unfortunately, I don't see any way to rest Mane and/or Salah. Hopefully we can take care of business in the first half and pull them in the second.

Would also prefer to see Robertson over Moreno.
