Hard to believe because he ain't no Milner when it comes to fitness in the twilight of a career.

But far be it from me to question Klopp about the players he actually signs thus far.

For free, I wouldn't actually mind (can't believe I'm saying it)... at least he'd bring a bit of nastiness this team lacks at times... someone to bring in late to kill off matches or throw forward to try and get a late goal..

I thought it was the one linking us to Dybala?

If we sign him, I'm going to bitch about it on a message board.

I'd be fine if we land either him or De Vrij, but yeah that'd be a scary duo... Also what do you think of this XI next year potentially:

Karius
Gomez--Koulibaly--VVD--Robertson
Ox-Jorghino-Keita
Salah-Firmino-Mane

Now that is an XI that can do things

All for signing a fearsome CB pairing. Covers up so many other deficiencies. Not really sure why more teams don't splash out with this strategy.

We REALLY need another legit striker.

Ings and Solanke are not up for it yet.

I want it for him, and with his energy you'd think he'd slide right into the system, but he just doesn't have the tools.

The starting 11 mentioned above is scary, but until our bench is solidified with quality when we rotate or during times of energy, we'll never be able to legitimately compete on 3 fronts. Hell I'm still nervous about top 4 this year and we've got a pretty fat cushion. Losing one of our front 3 or VVD for any extended period will be catastrophic.

Klopp's got a plan though, and I can't wait to see it bear fruit.

Ings is somebody that relies so much on service though. He looked good against Watford playing next to Salah and Mané, but once you take that away I think he struggles. Which isn’t the best for our system because we almost kind of play with a false 9 at times that needs to help link up and drop deep at times.

Honestly, I feel ok with our options at CB but certainly wouldn’t be opposed to getting a De Vrij on a free or Koulibaly (I think his style fits our play perfectly but he’s also someone more comfortable on the left so I’m not sure how pairing him with VVD would work).

We definitely need some upgrades in midfield with at least one, maybe two more guys and we seriously need to upgrade our depth in the front 3. I’d say perfect world we can get a striker or someone comfortable playing across the front 3 and another guy that has some creativity and can play on the wing or the more advanced role in midfield

Let's just win the Champions League and be done with worrying about top 4.

So what do we do if a mid-fielder goes down with injury tomorrow?

Bring in an extra defender?

Move TAA to MF, bring in Clyne.

We see if the rules explicitly forbid the use of a Rascal on the field for mobility purposes.

For Ings - I think its premature to look at his play as a winger and think he can't make it as a striker. Would like to actually see him in the Firmino role with Salah and/or Mane on the field. He's not getting a proper chance in squad - that being said, he needs to do better when he gets a chance, and at best, he should be our third option next year instead of our second.

Solanke - similar to above. Anfield Index or another website had an article the other day - title of it was unrelated to Solanke, but there was a section about him in the article. Essentially, he's terrible at aerial challenges, was not used that way by England U19s or us in the summer (when he looked good) and plays better behind another striker, yet we put him in and just start lumping up crosses to him. So it sounds like he's another one playing a role he's not built to play currently.

Klopp turned Lewandowski into a star - I trust him to know what he wants and what he's looking for out of his developing forwards.

I will say - both link up with the other players fairly well - and I would rather both than Origi.

ETA - Solanke needs a loan next year - likely to a championship team where he can play 30+ games, get some goals, and get used to the physicality.
