I have always been firmly of the belief that if you don't want to be here, then SEE YA!
frick Phil and his Barca "dream" here TWO WEEKS (now less than a day) before the EPL season begins. frick him with a rusty re-bar.
NO DISCOUNTS. I'm with TFTC, Barca can either open up their damn wallet or Coutinho can fricking enjoy the view from the Anfield Stands.
The Reds will win with Firmino, Mane, and Salah.
(And, yes, this *IS* different than van Dijk. VVD has given Southampton all the time in the world to prepare for his departure and find a replacement, they've just refused to do so. Yes, this *IS* totally different with less than 3 weeks remaining in the transfer window.)

Some are reporting that he's handed in the transfer request, some are saying that he's asked to leave. Completely different things. Keita asked to leave. VVD asked to leave (and has since handed in a request).
Yes, its not good either way, but asking to leave isn't the same as handing in a request - and there's a gulf between the two.
Apparently he's asked via e-mail, which if true, speaks to his cowardice. I understand you want it in writing, but be a man, dude.

but about Phil... not sure on the particulars... but it sounds from the reports, he had already asked to leave, but the club refused to do business...

Now the mouthpieces are referring to it as a "transfer request". So I guess that makes it official.
While we can certainly reject it (and I hope we do), he'll have forever lost the fans on this. He may still play here this year (it is a WC year after all and he won't be able to pout about it forever), but I can't see him staying one way or the other next year (unless no one comes in with a decent amount of money for him).

Take the £120m we apparently rejected, add £10m as a starting point, then add £10m every 4 hours until Barcelona sends a check or they give up.
