Yeah that sums it up... I'm not sure I could find anything negative to say about it, we grew into the game, took advantage of chances, then put it to bed and kept a clean sheet, doesn't get closer to perfect than that

On a serious note, how about Millie straight BOSSING the midfield today?! The man was possessed!

Bobby worked his tail off getting back and picking pockets.

TAA held his own against someone clearly faster than him.

Hendo did great with switches/overall distribution.

Gino's runs from the midfield into the box were key to unlocking the bus Porto parked and set the alarm on.

Everyone today was pure class.

TAA looking shaky defensively so far.

I never saw this at all. A case could be made for TAA as MOM. Not sayin, just sayin.

That was about 10 minutes into the match when at least twice the guy he was defending just blew by him. The first 15 minutes of the match Porto had a couple of decent opportunities. Guess whose side they were coming from?

He got better.

One thing I did notice yesterday is that Big Dijk has amazing long balls.

Now that the dust has settled, Lovren did look good yesterday and I'm sure VVD has helped be a calming influence... but I'd still prefer to get an actual good CB back to partner with him and send him on his way and wish him well...

two top class CBS and if the Ndidi rumors are true... we will be in business at the back...

edit: hopefully he continues to look good next to VVD, so we can possibly swindle someone this summer..

Ive been pretty critical of Milner, but he looked great.. I still think he does most of his damage in wide areas and is not a true CM... but it can work in a 3 man mf I guess...

I thought Gini was outstanding and displayed a lot of strength on the ball.. one of his best road performances...

Hendo was solid... kept it simple, that's all he had to do.. Not sure he can rest on that when we play the big boys..

Agree. The uptick in form for Karius and Lovren is nice, but they aren’t permanent solutions. We need to upgrade to an elite player in both spots and still need to buy a Coutinho replacement. If we want to show ambitions of winning the league next year then these are moves we have to make

A starting CB and another GK are still priorities this summer. Ndidi has Klopp written all over him, he would be perfect tackling everything he sees even if he can’t pass.

You’re going to be very disappointed with the summer transfer window if this is your expectations.

Eh, Lovren has always had all the tools. I'm willing to give it a little bit more time.

We need a real striker. If Bobby gets a knock, we're F-ed.

We’ll see. In 17/18 we’ve added Salah, Van Dijk, Robertson, and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Set the record for a defenders transfer fee and then recouped all that money with the Cou sale. We’re going to bring in good players this summer, and already have a midfield Catalyst wrapped up in Naby Keita, which is often forgotten. Right now he’s statistically the most productive dribbler in the bundesliga, which will be immense towards further bolstering our attack next season. We’re in on the kid behind him if reports are to be believed

I'm willing to give Karius time, because I don't think he's ever really had a good run of games... He very well may not be up to it..

Lovren has proved over his time here (4 years) he is crap... I wont be lulled into thinking he's good, because he always has a f'up in him... rinse and repeat.. a few games where he doesn't have much to do and he looks okay then...

I think Klopp will try to make it work with Matip and Lovren while grooming Gomez. Money will be spent but I suspect in the middle of the pitch and on youth up front, solanke types (not necessarily strikers)

Yeah, I have a real feeling that Gomez will get his shot next to VVD sooner rather than later.

Pearce reporting we are likely to pull out of the Alisson chase with Roma asking for £62mm...

Migs is probably gone and we'll need someone else to come in though...

I'm guessing the timing of this has everything to do with Karius' positive play and trying to squash reports that may undermine his confidence.. we also didnt need a new CB a couple of months ago..

I'm sure we're not completely out of the Alisson race, but it will be interesting to see who the other suitors are. No reason at all for Roma to agree to a price if 2-3 of the top 7 or so richest teams in Europe are possibly after him.

Migs has to go. I would be ok with Ward as a back-up if Karius keeps performing the way he has. I have been especially pleased with how Karius has started coming off his line for crosses, etc. When he first got here, it was mentioned that he liked to stay back for the crosses. So to me, that means he's been working on his game to adapt to England.

I also think its a big benefit for VVD to be in the line-up - and with Karius as the sweeper, I think we're seeing some benefits to our formation being a bit more compact up the pitch.

I don't want to suggest that I'm ok with Lovren, but if he's 3rd/4th, he's a decent backup CB to have. I would rather Gomez be getting those minutes, but that's just a matter of time (and of having a second RB - come on Clynne!) If we could improve with another starting CB, sell Lovren, have Matip and Gomez as 3/4 CB and Klavan as 5th - I would be fine with that. I would almost feel bad for Klavan as I think he's performed pretty well this year.

My list for the off-season -

1. Back-up but starting level attacker that can fill in on any front 3 (werner? Might even need 2 guys for this - but one being young that we don't have to rely upon as much)
2. GK (could move down if Karius keeps performing)
3. DM/another CM (especially if Can goes we need another that can play deeper)
4. Starting CB (could move up the list to top spot if Lovren/Matip keep having rollover coaster years)
