I just don't get this line of thought - its never "our" money but its not about who is spending it - though I am completely against the people who will @#$@# when we spend and #$%#$ when we don't.

We don't have unlimited amounts of funds. Therefore spending and allocating said funds in the best way possible is pretty much of utmost importance. While I personally love the VVD move, even with as much money as its costing, I'm not at all bothered by people who think, with our resources, we are allocating too much of it to a position where we could get good, but less proven players for cheaper and then have more resources for a top DM, etc. That, of course, requires that the people @#E$@# are doing so in a contructive manner, which is likely not who you're talking about.

But due to the resource question, I've never once not cared how we are spending it. Every little $5m extra on a player like VVD might be one less wonderkid like Gomez who we can't buy from Charlton, etc.

Personally though, I'm all in for VVD. Not happy with the amount of money, but if Klopp has wanted him this long, and clearly it is one of our top two glaring needs, then I'm excited going ahead with it.

I agree with Klopp.. but if you reverse the prices of VVD and Salah, it all balances out..

Jan 1 may be too soon, with all the paperwork clearing, etc... though I guess it's possible..

I'm thinking the FA match against the bitters and hopefully against City..

I'll add, that I think it will take him some time to bed in and get back to his top form... watch all the calls for "flop" if we concede any goals in the next month
