Argentina and Germany lose their first game and both only scored from the spot... very interesting

fricking legendary 2nd half by Japan there

Japan went all frick it attack in the end and it paid off.

Love that shite instead of the bitches who go conservative like Berhalter.

Just phenomenal. I'll remember that 2nd half arse beating for a long time

Brilliant game plan from Japan. Hard not to root for them.

From xG Philosphy on Twitter:

Germany (3.53) 1 - 2 (1.33) Japan

One of those rare times that the stat lies. Japan fully deserved it

Nueur shockingly bad on the second goal.

This is why we need to take more shots instead of crosses. You will get the goalie parrying the ball away and that creates scoring chances.

Something pleasing about watching a completely homogeneous Asian team get it done when almost every other team looks like a Nigeria now.

Agreed. That wasn't a fluke result.

Japan may not be able to win it all, but they can definitely knockout a team who could.

Well played by Japan. No idea why I continue to bet on World Cup matches. Argentina and Germany have both fricked me. But as soon as I start betting underdogs, the favorites will all play like France did yesterday…..guaranteed.

Japans team is very cohesive and never stops running. I think 5 subs helped them a lot too. I dont think we'll ever see a USA team buy in like their team does

They're extremely tactically flexible as well. It's a dangerous combination.
