should be a 12 yard semi-circle around the center of the goal.

only if you are fouled in that area do you get a PK kick. Goalie can no longer run 28 yards out and grab ball.

my photoshopskillz have dead, not really to scale , just a rendering...

current penalty area = 7,128 sq ft
proposed penalty area= 2,035 sq ft

just trimming the fat of where garbage PKs are handed out, and the area shite goalies can over commit too.

whatchayallthank?

It's unnecessary. It is fine as it is.

Do shots from behind this line count for 3 points in this sport too?

Seriously though, I think that is too small. But i do agree that there may need to be a change.

The goalie thing doesn't really bother me but it's ridiculous a player can draw a PK with his back to the goal in the corner of the box. Spain-Brazil Confed Final perfect example.

I don't think this would require a smaller box though rather than just allowing refs to use some common sense.

That circle would look even smaller with players on the pitch.

That entire Box is needed?

on right, where goalie is standing....to two yards on either side of current goal box. everything else outside that area is not where the goalie "needs to use his hands"...which is creating this PK area

So, you disagree with the WC Elimination Round format?

As a goalie myself I have to say frick no. Being a goalie is already hard enough as it is. The box is mine gtfo.

Smaller box=less penalties=easier for keepers

I think it's fine the way it is, though.

smaller box = less space to use hands = harder for keepers

but keepers are figs anyways who yell at their team every time they get scored on and then freak out when they frick up and people make fun of them for getting beat near post or some shite

Keepers rarely use there hands past the PK spot, maybe even closer to 10. Smaller box wouldn't affect much.

Penalties aren't that common that shrinking the size of the box would benefit keepers.
