Mane to Bayern rumors heating up for €30-40m

I said it last night that I don’t think it’s terrible (assuming we get a decent replacement), but would be nice to get more for him than that. I know he only has a year left, but that’s a bit of a steal

Yep, sit Hendo on the bench where he should always be because he contributes nothing. Trent and fab anchoring and rotating Thiago because he’s not durable, keita, harvey and Curtis until one of them comes out as a world class gamer. I’m betting on harvey.

I would rather keep Sadio than Mo. Mo has the highest highs, but also the lowest lows. Sadio bounces back in a matter of weeks, whereas Mo seems to go through bouts of depression for months at a time.

I feel the same way but Mane is gone.

We competed to the end on 4 fronts with TAA at right back and Hendo as a mainstay in midfield... I think we obviously should always refresh the squad, but those expecting those two to be replaced in their respective positions next season will be disappointed...

TAA is not the greatest defender, but not anywhere as bad as people make out... it's the way he is asked to play... and Hendo will always give you a 7/10 performance.. though I do believe he will need to be phased into a more rotational spot as he ages...

If Sadio indeed leaves, I really hope we get a more traditional #9... not a big target man, but someone in the Suarez mold (Nunez?)

Same.

I don't rate Jones. I know he's still young but he really needs to show quickly or I think he'll be loaned or sold.

Naby is a tough situation. Good squad player but nothing more imo. They paid a lot so JK will try to make it work.

I don't think Jones will ever be good enough to crack our starting 11 in this era, but is good enough to start for a mid table club... maybe a move to Villa with Gerrard would be a good move...

Nunez would be amazing with Diaz on left and Mo on right. Jota as the main attacker off bench. Would be awesome

Mane will always be the guy I give credit to for starting this run. He came when it was only a project and nothing clearly defined. As Klopp said, he wanted players that wanted to push the train, not just jump on after it was moving. Mane got the train started in my mind. Yes, Virgil and Alison are more key in my opinion but mane started this for me. I’ll miss if he does leave.

I’m excited about the roster turnover that could occur this summer.

We competed?! You don’t go to Liverpool to compete, you go to win. History doesn’t give a damn about who came a few goals short of the quad, it gives a damn about who wins it.

I never said Trent was a bad defender. I’m saying he can’t excel and become a world class threat and a world class defender because it’s impossible, and we can’t have liabilities at the highest level.

Dude, hendo does not belong starting as captain on a world class side, and if we’re all honest with ourselves we can all move on from pretending like he does. He should be starting for West Ham, not Liverpool.

I think it’s clear the Trent offensive movement is by design. We shift into more of a 3-4-3 when in possession. The long balls overhead have a CB to cover and usually hendo and trent are racing back to the space too. You don’t want to take that away from Trent’s game.

The goal against Madrid had nothing to do with Trent being forward. He just switched off and didn’t know where vini was outside of him. Trent was back in his position early. Watch the build up he barely checks behind him the whole time. It’s happened to every Right back an left back who has ever played the game. But it does seem to happen to him more against big teams than anyone else and so it seems we give up important season defining goals because he switched off.

Trent is a fine defender on the dribble but prone to getting beat by really quick players at times. But he also holds his own quite often against them. His biggest issue is switching off and not know where the guy outside of him is when the ball is on the left side of the pitch.

yes.. competed... to the very fricking end in all 4 competitions we were in this season. That final could have gone either way on Saturday and unfortunately it went theirs. We won two trophies this season and overall it was a great season to follow this club... If you cant get joy out of that then I dunno...

TAA doesn't need to be a world class defender... I'll take what he offers in attack, which is world class, any day..

We'll disagree on Hendo... No he's not world class but he's been an integral part (captain) of this incredible run and a mainstay in midfield... others have come and gone and he remains one of the first names on the team sheet when healthy.. I'm not saying we cant improve his position, he'll be 32, so obviously his time is going to start coming to end... Personally, I'll view him as a LFC legend when his time is up..

Yes it is. His concentration level has to pick up. He can get by 90% of the time as we just out talent teams but when we play the upper echelon that's when it gets exposed. His positioning for the goal was good. He has steadily become more efficient positionally but he has to pick up his concentration and awareness or one moment of lapse can decide a fixture.

On another note, if Konate can steadily improve his concentration (which I think he will as he is so young especially for a defender) he will be world class. He has everything and that price will look like pennies.

Like you said, I think TAA was in decent position for that goal... I just dont think he was expecting that ball to get through all those bodies to Vinicius Jr... So def a lapse in concentration...

I agree Konate is going to be a monster and expect him to get even more starts next to VVD next season... I think his physical attributes would be perfect along side TAA..

I guess the Sadio rumors are true...

But 1 or 2 of the attacking big 3 has to go... We have got to continue to refresh to stay on top and get some £ for them... I think thats one of the reasons Fergie was so successful, for so long at United.. knowing when to sell stars.. at their peak, not their decline.. I do hope we plan to sell him for more than £30mm I've been reading..

I think the right side is solid with Diaz/Jota/Carvalho... I said it before, but I hope we go for a #9... If we do that, I'd take a flyer on Dembele on a free, too... low risk/high reward..

I’ve seen Dembele rumors flying around from decent sources, but nothing concrete. Just saying we’ve contacted and had negotiations with him.

I would be disappointed if he was the only forward brought in, but as a backup on a free.. I would really like it...

He was playing a lot better for Barca the last couple of months, but obviously has his red flags... So, he may fall into our "no knobhead" policy... They can figure all that out!

Dembele and Nunez seem to be the two most common names being thrown out right now. Both could come in and be great options to change things up. We will have a ton of games to go around next year (like most years truthfully) so two more options up front would be good.

I've watch Dembele back to his days at Rennes. DO NOT WANT. He is a luxury player, not the type we typically bring in. He can beat his man off of the dribble, quick, decent goal scorer.

He's bad at tracking back, poor attitude when things don't go his way and he's ver very inconsistent. Unless he is very cheap and on low wages (both I'd doubt)......very hard pass.
