Does FSG really break their salary brackets for Salah
He is on another level surely the other players can see that. FSG seems to be at the $200k a week level for top players but the market for Salah is now 400k plus....right?

They should, or we are being run by people who aren’t interested in maintaining elite play.

They're going to get it done and even if it doesn't work out, the team will still be fine without him and still sell him for a sizeable amount.
I do see significantly less bitching in this thread, which is pleasant.
Be careful what you wish for with rampant knee jerk manager appointments and spending.
You get what we saw last Sunday. I realize Salah is nothing like the trash on Man U but that is what bad decisions/overpaying washed up players gets you right there.

Does not equal paying the current best forward in world football.

My point is our ownership does their diligence in negotiation as opposed to just throwing stupid money around when a player barks for it.
Even the best forward in the world has a value threshold at 29 years old. If he demands we go over that threshold, it's worth weighing your options as opposed to just caving and screwing up your whole wage structure and finances for the next 5 years, just to get a deal done.

Were going to see if FSG is working strictly
on salary "slots" or will pay much more for a talent outlier

Was awesome to beat Aletico at Anfield. Now hopefully we can get rested and get 3 points against West Ham this weekend.

We need quality midfield depth. We’ve started a million different midfield trios this season already. We only did 4 or 5 different ones when we won the league title.
Losing Gini hurt a bit, but not as bad as I expected in terms of starter quality. All of our kids are perpetually hurt, though, it seems. Keita is injured a bunch, Thiago as well, Hendo tends to pick up injuries… that is three of the four highly preferred starters. That will bite us at some point.

We have 8 CMs, but like you said, I think the problem is the depth we have is too prone to injury. Its crazy to think that even 8 CMs should be considered too little because of how easily we get to the physio's table.

Exactly. We are shallow in top-end quality.

It’s time to move on from Ox. Don’t know how much we can get for him. I wasn’t sure who the 3rd midfielder was until 30 plus mins into the first half.
Obviously he has to play now because of the injuries.

I may not be remembering correctly, but I remember saying that we needed more midfield depth a while back and someone telling me I’d lost it.
Our quality depth is NOT good in the middle of the park, whether due to injury prone players, a lack of skill for certain players, or both.
It is time to back off of chasing Mbappe or Haaland maybe and sign quality depth in the middle of the park, if that hasn’t already become or been the focus.

The problem with our CMs is the same problem we had with CBs last year - we have some, but they all have a big history with injuries. And there will be times when multiple of them won't be able to play as those injuries overlap.
We also just don't have a good back-up for Fab. Hendo isn't nearly as good in that position, and in part, we are a different tactical team without Fab.
