Of European soccer. It hasn't been a part of American soccer nor does it need to be.

Right it happened, but it shouldn't. That's the whole point.

Exactly. But don't tell him that. It's not a part of American sports culture.
Posted on 10/7/17 at 5:09 pm to GeorgeTheGreek
Well MLS fan culture is full of a bunch of wannabes
Posted on 10/7/17 at 5:11 pm to StraightCashHomey21
That I agree with. Guaranteed that's a huge turnoff and if you want the typical American sports fan to quit calling soccer "gay" those flags won't help. The sissy boy stigma is what the game is trying to get away from here.

The try hard is a turn off for tons of people especially ones who follow the game just not MLS.

The gay flags are annoying as hell, but if there is one place where I can deal with it, it’s Orlando. Especially when they packed that bitch and made it an actual home game.
Something a lot of cities cannot claim in this hex.

Because if there's one thing I know about the typical American sports fan, it's that they're open to changing their long-held opinions and prejudices
anyone who calls soccer gay isn't going to get their eyes open or whatever just because people stop flying rainbow flags at games
if people think that way, who needs them
at least soccer fans trend a little more rational than the average sports fan

Agreed. I don't know why people feel the need to announce if they like P or D at a damn game.

I bet you most the people waving them are straight

I don't think I've ever felt compelled to wave a flag advertising my sexuality in any setting
Probably helps that I've never been marginalized, and watched my friends die, for my sexuality
Hopefully, someday, people can feel comfortable enough to just do the same shite as everyone else

Yeah I'm pretty sure most of the flags are because of the Pulse shooting. It's people showing support for the community, and how the city has rallied in the wake of that tragedy.
I don't think it was a bunch of gay people just taking the opportunity to proclaim their sexuality. Those flags are their version of #BostonStrong basically

I will shite in one hand and wish in the other that they would at least not reprint the American flag in order to do that.
Its a needless affront to people who aren't on board with the gay agenda, but I'm sure that's by design.

Even though it’s against the USA’s flag code (for whatever lame reason) I don’t understand why Americans get so upset over flag defacement. Waving a rainbow USA flag isn’t an insult at all especially in a place like Orlando where so many lost their lives for just being in a gay nightclub. I see it as just them being proud of living in America and being gay along with honoring those that died in that horrible shooting. I don’t understand the logic of why people get upset over it.

My point is that I wouldn't expect fair, mature consideration of either my viewpoint or my wishes, either from movement homosexuals or from the misguided, moral relativist youth of the soccer board. You guys absolutely predictably proved me correct, as I have no doubt the gays waving those flags would if given the chance.
Downvote away, sheep! And I don't mean "Sheep" in particular, though he would if, as I suspect, he didn't think downvotes were beneath him.
