Arsenal, report sampnews24, have agreed with Sampdoria on a transfer involving their Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreria, activating his €25 million release clause.

Need Wm72 in here to tell us if this is a good transfer or not.

He's a tiny dude. Maybe a Santi replacement.

More rumors about our interest in Soyuncu also. I hope we get these deals over the line.

He definitely looks like a Santi replacement based on the highlights I've seen.

He definitely reminds me of Santi the way he can dribble and wiggle his way out of pressure. I did notice that Torreria looked like he has good defensive qualities. Can tackle and is strong for his size.

What do you think of Bielsa to Leeds?
Posted on 6/10/18 at 12:16 pm to cwil177
he’s a more defensive veratti, from what I’ve seen/read. smaller, but good positioning and has good ability to link play. santi replacement is spot on to his versatility (not sure he’s quite as two footed though).

Guy looks good. Little more built than Santi and he is very good at winning the ball off people.
Was thinking of kante watching some of his highlights.

Barcelona youth player Joel Lopez has turned down a contract at the Catalan club in order to move to Arsenal's youth set-up, according to Sport.
The 16-year-old left-back was highly regarded in Spain and Barca tried to convince him to stay, but Arsenal have promised progress through the ranks and an eventual shot at the first team.
Arsenal's Head of Football Relations, Raul Sanllehi, spent 14 years at Barcelona and is thought to be behind the deal.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has signed a long-term contract extension with Arsenal.
He made 28 appearances last season and will wear the No. 15 in the 2018-19 campaign.

It's looking like the deal for Lucas Torreira is almost done. I think it's a great signing. 22 year old defensive midfielder with upside for only 30 million euros. I think he will be a good partner for Xhaka.

As widely reported Arsenal in talks to sign Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira. No agreement but central midfield a priority & 22yo Uruguay int’l seen as ideal fit technically + financially. #AFC also want a GK after defensive signings of Lichtsteiner & Sokratis (announced July)

Looks like I'm going to watch some Uruguay. They play Egypt on Friday. Hopefully Elneny is fit to play.
And Ljungberg is back to coach the U23 side. One of my favorite players.

Tough start of the season for Arsenal and Emery.

Will be interesting that first match to see what players are available for both teams.

So Adli has apparently changed his mind and is going to sign with PSG instead.
