i'm sure the squads can afford even better depth with the extra money, too

I think it’s around two million more for each higher position, for example 18th place team would earn 4 million more than the 20th team
Well, that's immaterial for a bigger club so squash that incentive.
If the option remains for these clubs to play ESL and UCL plus the domestic leagues, then I would think the domestic tournaments are the ones that lose tremendously.
The FA Cup is anchored in tradition but these power clubs could field a youth team to cover to additional games and deprioritize it heavily.
Domestic League + UCL + ESL is feasible from a scheduling standpoint...but their other domestic tournaments would become meaningless from a financial standpoint.
I find it intriguing that there seems like an undercurrent of capitalism vs. socialism (?) that builds into the pyramid and role of the club within town and country. Maximizing profits versus supporting the domestic needs more broadly for the good of the sport...

If the 12 teams played in league this year you'd be dead last
That’s the shortsightedness I’m talking about.
It’s about being one of the 15 or so clubs that attract the best talent in the world, make the most money, and get all of the exposure.
I’m never not going to want that for Spurs. I haven’t been a fan for 40 years. I couldn’t care less about about what happens to West Brom and Fulham or some meaningless English cup while my club becomes a European giant.

Who doesn’t want to see MLS players now wearing Man U and Liverpool Jerseys competing in whatever league they come up with next
If they’re getting this much for the ESL, why would they buy MLS players?

agreed, especially the new ones that are 100% money grabs

Breaking now: The 14 other premier league clubs will be meeting tomorrow morning regarding this. They are excluding the six in these meetings.
like Wolves owned by a Chinese corporation, Aston Villa owned by the owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, Leicester who was owned by a Thai billionaire, Leeds owned by the York family who owns the 49ers, Fulham owned by the Jaguars owner
the "other 14's" indignation is hollow because they'd all be a part of it too if invited, that's just how money works and the owners are cut from a lot of the same cloth.

You think Stan Kroenke joined this league to get extra money to invest in the team?
i'd appreciate the Arsenal fans on here trying to discuss this without including "Stan Kroenke" in their posts

You don’t become a European Giant. Your not playing in a European competition. Your in a closed system with only 12 other clubs from 3 countries

any of these guys makes you think they're doing this to invest in their squad further?
Why those 3 teams will struggle in this league and the other fixtures they have during the season

Sporting clubs existing as businesses is relatively new. The structure of the pyramid also promoted the well-being of the game, because it offered specific standards for each level that required money that had to be specifically reinvested in maintaining standards to remain in the pyramid.
That there should be any move to maximize profits misunderstands the nature of what sporting clubs are. They exist for the sport. They are not business where sport is a secondary concern, despite what Stan Kroneke, in all his business wisdom, insists.
There has to be a reorientation of the pyramid system to reflect the reality of modern football, but maximizing profits for their own sake is an absolute terrible strategy, a race to the bottom, the effects of which isn't directly obvious.

The good news is that regardless of the competitions your club plays in, your club will forever be irrelevant trash.

Serious question?
Are there any countries in Europe who have fans that cheer for non local clubs?
Or is this just a tv money grab for Chinese, Indian and American viewership?

That’s 5, max 6 games.
Super league is going to be how many games? There’s no way to fit it in the schedule without cutting the Champions League.
