The problem is that we don’t have many of these type of matches from now until 2026.
The next “big” match we play will be if/when we play Canada or Mexico in Nations League semis or final.
Also, I’m not sure if Poch is a guy who can get Americans to take pride in playing for their country. He was brought in to be tactically more sound than the previous coach. But today, he and the players are getting out coached and out played.
It’s still way early obviously in his tenure, and we had to make a coaching change for obvious reasons. But Poch coming in less than two years away from the World Cup doesn’t afford him a lot of time to “change the culture” so everything is inherently a little more urgent. So far, this is a step back.
